I'd love to hear about your dog/dogs. ❤️  I love dogs and am considering getting another.  My dog passed a while ago.

Meet Baxter.
He is an "English Staffy".
The American breed is somewhat larger. The English staffy is smaller.

He is 7. He is always happy. He loves his back scratched. He can fixate on a special toy. He will stare at it for hours, waiting for you to throw it. So we play for a while, then we have to put it away in the cupboard - out of view.

He would not make a good guard dog. When the doorbell rings, he is so happy. He runs to the front door. He has perfected a little routine. He runs up to the visitors and wags his tail, staying down low. When they bend down to pat him, he jumps up for a lick on the face. It works almost every time.
Even burglars would get the same welcome.
He is a bit of a sissy. For example, there was a strange noise out the back. He ran to the back door and barked. But he would not go out. He kept barking. He wanted me to go out first, and then when it was ok, then he would go out. Some guard dog!
He goes everywhere with us. We did some rugged 4x4 driving to the very tip of Australia when he was 6 months old. He loved it.
Last year, we started out on a lap of Australia with a small caravan in tow. With his great smile and happy disposition, he made friends wherever we went.
People brought him food, kids came around and offered to walk him for us. It was good to have him around.
