Issues with JWL not using the correct screen for the media player

Recommended Posts

Hi brothers!

We have a 3 screen setup at our kingdom hall. 2 at the A/V desk and the 3rd at the podium (which actually is 2 screens in a  SDI loop). Whenever we start JW Library on the PC, the media view is always displayed on one of the PC screens instead of the ones at the podium. Is there any way to force JWL to use a certain screen?

Does rearranging the screen geometry in Windows Display settings help?

I’ve had issues when a third screen is plugged into a computer after JW Library was started, the media display would jump to the wrong screen when toggling full screen. I wouldn’t have an issue if JW Library was started after the third screen was connected though.

JWL will display media on the next screen up from the one label Main Display in the display settings. When you click identify in the settings figure out which display is your TV. If your TVs are display 3 then you need to make the main display number 2. If the main display is number 1 then the media will display on number 2. If the main display is number 2 then the media will display on number 3.

I think JW Library will remember the screen position from last time. But, I notice when I boot the computer while the external screens are still turned off, the computer will move all windows to the main screen (simply because it cannot use the turned off screen). However, when I boot the computer and the external monitors are turned on, it will place it back exactly where we left off last time.

Not sure if this is the issue you're experiencing, but I hope it helps you (or anyone else)...
