Events that followed:

*May 23 — Harold Camping changed the Rapture to October 21, 2011 to coincide with the 5-month-delayed apocalypse that he had already previously set on that day.

*June 9 — Harold Camping endures a stroke, quits his daily radio show.

*October 16 — Five days before the impending new "end" date, Camping publicly denounces his own prediction and says that no one can know the day of Judgment.

*March 6, 2012 — A few days before one of his followers had predicted Judgment Day would happen (March 8, 2012; during Jewish Purim holiday), Camping stated that his 1994 and 2011 attempts to predict a date were "sinful". He added that he was now searching the Bible "even more fervently... not to find dates, but to be more faithful in understanding."

*May 2012 — News outlet interview former Camping followers who either admit they were part of "a cult", or deny that they ever expressed certainty in the May 21 Judgment date.

Modesty is not something we can simply define in a way that suits us.

Since 2006, JWTalk has proved to be a well-moderated online community for real Jehovah's Witnesses on the web. However, our community is not an official website of Jehovah's Witnesses. It is not endorsed, sponsored, or maintained by any legal entity used by Jehovah's Witnesses. We are a pro-JW community maintained by brothers and sisters around the world. We expect all community members to be active publishers in their congregations, therefore, please do not apply for membership if you are not currently one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
