Hospitality Again!

Recommended Posts

With the holiday in Canada next weekend, we're having some unbelieving family over one supper, and some excellent brothers and sisters over another supper next weekend!  Any suggestions for great conversation topics?!  How can we encourage our unbelieving relatives to explore the truth??  Any amazing ideas for desserts?

I‘ve had success by being more of a listener to what concerns them, and being more sympathetic or showing support. It can be something huge but even something trivial. There is usually something that a person says that can lead up to a positive view of the Bible, or that you might even agree with whatever they said from your Bible viewpoint. Tactful is the key. Maybe there is an opportunity to send them a message afterwards that you thought about what he or she said, and maybe ask if they want to go for a walk. Then continue slowly and tactfully talk about the mentioned subject. Because you are a relative, they might even allow you to quote a scripture. Encourage spiritual thinking about something. That will most certainly wake something up in them, and maybe even compare it to what they know or believe about God. At least in my case, one relative chats with me now to talk deep about life, and I get opportunities to share scriptures, specifically by going through the Enjoy Life brochure. But she still hasn’t agreed to study, but I just use the info in the brochure while chatting with her.

She lives in Canada and recently posted on my Facebook how she wishes the whole JW community her deepest condolences from the attack that happened in Germany (where I live with my family). That was nice to see.
