NW Scheduler/Publisher - Updates, Support, and Suggestions

if I suggest this to our BOE (Right now we are just using spreadsheets and pdfs), how much work is it to get all of it set up?

It is not trivial - kinda depends on your starting point. A lot of data can be configured to be imported. Their docs explain how. A knowledgeable brother could figure that out fairly easy.

I helped get it started in our town, and I have this suggestion: Start SMALL.

1. Download NWS and create your congregation. Tell the elders you just want to set up a small demonstration.

2. Select a few tech-savvy publishers (pioneers and elders, if possible) and add their names to the publisher list.

3. Get them do download and activate NW Publisher on their phone

4. Set up a few meetings and download the info, make a few duty assignments (microphone, video, etc)

5. Now they can show off the system to others and help them see the power of it.

6. Show how easy it is to turn in field service time, and to maintain contact info.

7. Overall, you can implement this gradually - over many weeks or even months if you wish

You can do all this without affecting your current system in any way. Once others see it in action, most will say "fix me up, too!"

it is NOT automatic - that is something you do when you are ready. You tap the "Reset Territory" button and choose which categories you want to reset.

Thanks, you came through again with answering my question, BUT it leads to another. The address type you can set from the NWP app for At Home, Not Home, Do Not Call, however No Trespassing and the Vacant would in our case be useful. How do you set that from the NWP app? Use Custom Buttons? Or is there a better suggestion?

We started off a little differently. As CBOE I installed NWS just to see how it could help me in my own responsibilities, mainly scheduling all meeting parts and duties, among others. (This was before scheduling the CLM passed over to the CLMMO.) When I used it and saw the usefulness and powerful features I invited the other members of the service committee to install and evaluate it themselves. Then a few months later we invited the group overseers to also evaluate it. Once we were all convinced of the benefits, about a year after I first installed it we rolled out NWP to all in the congregation who wanted to try it. No one was obliged to install it. Now about 95% of the congregation use and appreciate it.

Anyone else seeing the latest NWP update? Once the device updates the app to 3.7.0, the app appears to disconnect the user from the congregation and has a new drop down option when connecting back in..

Since we're in North America, that's what we selected, entered our Congregation ID and PIN but it'll say the congregation ID is not found in the region selected. So.... use the "Old Server" option?

There is a new build for NWS ( 7.8 #1392). You must change the App Region in the NW Publisher app section. Send app data. Then open the app and connect to the new selected Region. All publishers need to do this.

I've done that exactly. no connection with publicher possible. In Scheduler, all data are lost.

I'm having the same issue with data loss. I have tried restoring from backup on 7.8, but it shows the missing data as missing from the backup. I reinstalled 7.7 using an old .exe and the backup worked as usual. I guess it is an issue with the way 7.8 interprets the data, which will require the developers to fix.

Since the App update, I'm not seeing my service group publisher listing on the App.

Untick the option show Publisher information and send app data. Then tick that option again, put the settings back, and send app data.

My congregation is unable to access via the app, with varying error messages. Has anyone else experienced the same?

Same here. Only 3 have managed to connect so far. Most messages are the pincode is incorrect.

It's possible to get in, but it is a pain. On Publisher, you need to clear data (or uninstall and reinstall the app). Then in Scheduler, under "App", "App Persons" you can "reset PIN". The new pin should work.

Hopefully a better fix is soon implemented, cos I don't fancy doing that 180 times...
