Only a Windows tablet would work since the software only runs on Windows. A Microsoft Surface would be the best choice if your looking for thin and light.

For what it's worth, I keep a Windows PC with the program loaded on it awake at home at all times. That way I can remote into it using Chrome Remote Desktop from my phone, tablet, of Chromebook. I also know some brothers use emulating to get it out in their iPads and such... Just some suggestions.

However when I open the file in Excel it only has one field with data which looks like junk.

Just to be thorough, you could try opening the exported csv file in a plain text editor (Notepad or Notepad++). This will show you the actual contents of the file. This will make clear whether the data is truly missing, or just wrongly formatted for Excel.

Another option for you: You could export the entire territory to a csv file. After you open it in Excel, you could easily locate which addresses were "Not Home" (the Status column). You could sort or filter and delete the other rows. This would give the same result you were after.

Thanks for trying to help. But the export selected addresses is busted, not working a definite coding problem. The size of the CSV file is 1k which indicates it should have data in it. It is not wrongly formatted for Exel as Notepad shows it is empty and has no data.

What you suggested as an option is what I have done as a work around. Export ALL data, then select the status column and sort it alphabetically which puts the Not At Homes and the No Trespassing at the very end of the sheet. Delete all other rows and then create a report of ALL Not At Homes and No Trespassing and pass them on to the Phone witnessing and Letter Writing brothers.

Thanks for your help and with the work around I got a temporary solution. Just wanted to pass this on to the developers, because It should not be that difficult to take all the addresses and then parse them with the criteria that is ticked in the selection box.

I use remote desktop to connect to my computer at home from my Samsung tablet. I get a full screen and it works great. I can do it from my Pixel phone as well. Its a little harder since the screen is smaller.

Had a user report and I confirmed that using the Away Period a single day cannot be done. For instance the user wanted to select March 23 to March 23. The Submit button stayed greyed out. However in the NWS I could select a single day.

I found that if I change the first date to something else and then back again the submit button would light up again.

I just tried it in NWP 3.7.7 #295 for Mar 24 and had no problem. It worked fine for me. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hi, everything works for us, if I can give you some advice, always check if all the other seniors or those who use NW, have the latest update, many times it does this when not everyone is updated. a hug

do a "test" on the App for the elders

I assume you mean you want to test importing and using territories. All you would have to do is import your territories and assign one to an individual elder as a personal territory. He would be the only one who could see/use it. For testing, you could assign one territory to each elder... As a next step, you could assign a territory to the elder's family so his wife/kids could test it out.

Is it possible to have two maps covering some of the same territory? I know that sounds strange, but I am referring to Business territory. The main street of a small town may be on several maps, with some houses scattered between the businesses but to work the Businesses, you would want them all on the one map if possible. This would mean the Business map would cover parts of several residential maps. Has anyone done that? Or any other ideas to display Business territory in NWP?

I presume you will go from a map to Digital addresses. What I did is, I took one territory and created a portion of it as a test territory and digitized the addresses. Labeled it as number 999 and gave it the name Testing. Made it available to the whole congregation so that the publishers could experiment with it to their hearts delight, what it is like to change the status according to what happened at the address.

You need this when the BofE decides to go with this method of working the territory. I am very sure they will agree as it is a game changer in every which way.

It works perfect. Is he/she on the latest version?

I tried 3 different devices. The only way to get around it was to change the away from date to something else and then change it back. It is working now so maybe there was an update in the past couple of days. I was trying on the 22 to set the away period for the 23.

What will the Publishers then see on the App if I'm just sending myself a territory as a test?

Actually, the publishers won't see anything at all. When the 'Territory' tab is opened, it shows a list of territories. Which territories appear depend on the scope of the assignment. A territory can have a scope of Congregation, Field Service Group, Family, or Personal. All in cong can see (and work with) a Congregation-wide territory (the most common in our congregation). If you assign an elder a personal territory, it shows up in the territory list for him, but no one else - not even his wife or kids.

Yes, you can do that. You can draw boundaries for a business territory that overlap boundaries for a residential territory. It helps if you designate separate territory 'types' in your naming conventions. Then in NWS you can turn on and off the layers for each type, depending on what you are working with. Of course, when you assign a territory, it would show only its own boundaries.

I have just tried a quick test and it allowed me to create a business map that spanned other residential ones. It hid the houses marked on the residential one as soon as you added the first business, but the houses and businesses previously marked on the residential map were still on the residential map when it was opened.  Businesses previously marked as such on the residential map stayed on the Res map and had to be inserted again on the Business one, but that is fine.
It seems to work thank you.

How have you guys solved memorial in NWS?
It's on a saturday so we use our sunday meeting to add the talker, media and audio and also podium service.
But the problem is that it shows the wrong date and time. I cannot find any way of changing meeting day temporarily. This was possible with our previous system.
I could write everything in the memorial event but then the persons who have some assignments wont see this in the app.
Is there any workaround or what is best practice?

I wondered this too. It's a shame there isn't a separate memorial section where you could assign your servers, prayers etc

Go to Congregation > Congregation Events > New > Under Type chose: Meeting Day Change, Event Name: Memorial.

Be sure that you haven't already listed the Memorial as Congregation Event. If you have, remove it.

Now you can add all the tasks, speaker, chairman etc.

We have the memorial as event. But where do you add the tasks then?
If I go to the weekend meetings it says Memorial but it shows still sunday instead of saturday.

If you change it to a meeting day change rhen the 'Duties' can be added as usual. It doesn't show up under the events tab.

NWS build update was released earlier today (Build #1398), as well as NWP version 3.7.10 #301.

Noticed a couple of things. When trying to open the Memorial in the NWP 'Schedules' view, it produced an error message (white screen). Went into NWS, removed the 'Meeting Change' for the Memorial, recreated the same event ('Meeting Change') & now the error in NWP has gone away. Can now see speaker info, etc.

In NWS, the 'Meeting Change' congregation event did change the date of the Memorial in the scheduled local public talks section. It also shows the correct date under the congregation event section of NWP, but it did not however change the date for us in the 'Schedules' view section of NWP and did not populate the congregation event 'Memorial' under the date of the Memorial (see attachments).

Perhaps I'm doing this wrong?
