I am wondering the same thing!

I used it yesterday to submit an application for September and I haven't heard anything from anyone yet, so I will ask the Service Committee if they received the application. I'm really curious what the process is for them to receive and approve applications submitted through NWP.

I've started a test process... The secretary received it with the ability to approve. I am assuming the Secretary and Coordinator received the same.  Once they all "approve" it I am assuming they will be marked as an AP for that month in NWS.

There is a task created for every brother of the servicecomittee. After approval he/she appears on the list as auxiliary pioneer.

Thanks. Is there any information sent back to the publishers app that shows the application was approved?

The latest NWP update 4.1.3 now has an Auxiliary Pioneer application!

On NWP I am on version 4.1.3 but I can't find any auxiliary application. Where do you find it? As a group we are still on #1461 for NWS - will the AP application start appearing after we update to #1463 or am I missing something?

Its on the Me page under Away Periods. I don't have the answer to your second question.

After clicking “Apply” does the wording from the actual S-205b show up before a final submission? If it does not, there should be a way to turn this off. I don’t think we as a body would want publishers to apply without knowing they are signing/agreeing to the sections on the actual form. Without the actual wording of the form, I don't think this way of submitting an application would be approved by the Faithful Slave.

“Because of my love for Jehovah… I would like to increase my share in the field service by enrolling as an auxiliary pioneer…”

Submit your application for September like I did and you will see the wording from the physical application. 😁

That is awesome. I thought about submitting a test application but our brothers would probably approve it before I could retract it. :) I feel a lot better about it since the wording shows up.

I submitted one and I didn't think it's working. I am an admin, and didn't see it imported anywhere after submitting.

In NW Scheduler version 8.2 #1463 it shows up in the Me - My Tasks section with a check box for the service committee.

Hi everyone,

Is there a way in NWS/NW Publisher to track individual blocks within a territory?

For example, if Territory 16 has 10 blocks and only blocks 1–6 were completed, I would like to record that blocks 7–10 are still pending, so this information is available the next time the territory is assigned.

Ideally, each block could be numbered on the map and marked as completed or pending.

Does NWS already have a way to do this? If so, how are you handling it?

Thanks!

You could achieve this if you fully adopt the territory system in NWS. For the given territory, you would need to add every address on every block. You could then ask the publishers to work the territory by blocks. That is, do block 1, then block 2, etc. They would need to carefully mark the addresses they worked. (At Home, Not Home, No Trespassing, etc). If the territory were turned in before all the blocks were worked, the un-worked addresses would be labeled "Available". You could then re-assign the territory WITHOUT resetting the addresses.

If you did not want to add all the addresses for each property, you could do a simplified variation:

STEP #1: Just add a single address in the middle of the block - it will initially be marked "Available". (See Pic 1)

STEP #2: Add a label to the address (Example: Block #1) It will now show up in the Territory Address list as "Block #1)  (See pic 2)

STEP #3: The publishers could then work the territory block-by-block in their normal pattern. As each block is finished, the one managing the territory could tap the block address and mark it "Done" (You can create a custom button for that purpose, if you like).

What @foghorn said are some good ways to achieve tracking blocks on the maps.

Instead of using one "house" address as the block marker, you could also choose to use the "Other" Address Type.

If you wanted to go one step further, instead of tracking blocks you could track streets using the "Street" address type.

None of the brothers on the Service Committee has received an email, nor have they been assigned any tasks in Scheduler yet. I have no idea what’s triggering this in the background.

As GMW said, it would only show up if you are up to date with NWS. If you are still using an old version, you won't be able to use this new function in NWS.

Yep, it only shows for the service committee. That's why I didn't see it.

Obviously other than discussing whether or not they approve the application, is there a way for the service committee to indicate their approval through NWS, and that would automatically set that publisher as an auxiliary pioneer in the app for the specified month(s)?

I see the check box under the task, but in my past experience that check box basically just acknowledges the task, or indicates that the task has been attended to. Is there something I'm missing?

I am assuming that after the SC approves the application, NWS changes the Publisher Record to indicate the publisher is an AP for that month. Then the NWS Pio Report could be given to the MWM chairman to announce who is AP.

I hope that is what it does 😁

Thanks for the reply. I think I didn't express my question clearly. I meant is there a NEW way for the SC to approve the application through NWS; do they have to do something in the app to approve it?

Or do they approve it the same way as always, manually, and the secretary then manually checks the AP box in NWS for the publisher as always?

This is new in #1463: it seems the currently installed version of NWS will expire after 2 months necessitating an update to the latest version.

I like the direction, but wish the expiry were a little shorter, like maybe a month or even less, so the brothers would be obligated to update more frequently. We are trying the "Maintenance Day" Sunday, but still 3 or 4 brothers drag their feet, or just forget to update.

I guess I didn't explain myself well. Its my understanding from comments made here that each of the SC receives a Task in NWS, after each of them complete the Task, NWS automatically marks the AP box in the Publisher Record.

I personally haven't seen any of that happen yet, it's based on what others have said here.

I hope the NWS team explains how this works exactly. Still not seeing any online documentation for this.

If my understanding based on comments here is correct, it seems it will be a pretty straightforward process. A publisher uses NWP to submit an application, each of the SC receives a Task in NWS, assuming they are using the latest update and check NWS frequently. Once they complete the NWS Task, the applicants Publisher Record in NWS is automatically updated to indicate the applicant is an AP for the month selected. That information can be printed in the NWS Reports and given to the MWM chairman.

Can anyone confirm that is the process?
