Biblical Food Recipes

Recommended Posts

There are a number of well known ones, like:

• 1 Tablespoon of Judges 5:25 (makes the Butter)
• ¼ cup raw Jeremiah 6:20 (gives the Sugar)
• 1 cup coarsely chopped Genesis 43:11, divided ( pistachio nuts and almonds [for these  read Walnuts])
• 1 cup Judges 5:25, softened (curdled milk = Butter)
• 1½ cups granulated Jeremiah 6:20 (Sugar)
• 4 Jeremiah 17:11 (Eggs)
• 2 cups Exodus 29:2 (Flour)
• 2 teaspoons Amos 4:5 (leavened bread = Baking soda)
• ½ teaspoon Mark 9:50 (Salt)
• 2 teaspoons ground Exodus 30:23 (Cinnamon)
• add to taste Chronicles 9:9 (Cloves, Allspice, Nutmeg)
• 4 cups cored, peeled, and coarsely chopped Psalms 17:8 (Apples)
• 1 Tablespoon 1 Samuel 14:25 (Honey)
• 1 cup chopped Numbers 17:8 (Almonds)
• 8 ounces dried, chopped Song of Solomon 2:13; 1 Samuel 30:12 (Figs)
• ½ cup 1 Samuel 30:12 (Raisins)

Think this is about right. Has anyone on the forum made up there own recipe from start, and what does it taste like?

(Genesis 43:11)  So Israel their father said to them: “If it must be so, then do this: Take the finest products of the land in your bags and carry them down to the man as a gift: a little balsam, a little honey, labdanum, resinous bark, pistachio nuts, and almonds.

HI Imagine, We certainly have a good source of 'food' spiritual and otherwise, and the website is most helpful.

The object of this forum, though, was to find out whether any other brothers and sisters had found creative ways to produce interesting recipes by adapting and combining bible texts.

I wonder if the butter back then tastes the same as it does today.

(Be careful! The above comment came from a suspicious source, a 20 year old. There's a risk that he is being: Idiot, reckless or stupid)

May depend on which country you live in and what procedure is used.

Over here margarine has been popular in many households, although we keep well away from it. One advert called it 'utterly butterly' (aaaagh)! There used to be an advert here making claims about the greatness of 'spreads' (butter without the...................well butter!)

They certainly ate a healthy diet, and Daniel demonstrated that you would be better for keeping to what you know.
