 No, I’m not talking about the movie that came out in 1985. The earth is believed to be 4.5 years old. If so, if aliens now lived in a galaxy at about 5 billion light years away from us and look at our galaxy, our planet will not be there. Another words  we do not exist. Weird.

Light travels in a straight line, so it takes about another half-billion years for them to see the Earth. (I assume you meant 4.5 billion years old, not just a few years old.) Just like us, the stars we see at night travel for a long time—some few years to reach us, but others take millions or even billions of years. That’s amazing!

What if they were looking the other way? We would never been seen at all.

 

Hopefully they were not wearing bras on their heads either.
