2024 Shepherding Visit to Zambia Branch

Recommended Posts

Am so excited that this weekend on a Saturday we will be attending a special meeting at the Lusaka Hearos Stadium in connection with a Shepherding Visit currently underway at the Zambia Branch Office. I look forward excitedly to knowing which governing body member has been assigned to Zambia for this occasion

What a day full of divine goodness this has been! We have had an exciting privilege to have br Mark Sanderson of the Governing Body together with brother Ben Pritchard from the West African Branch Office based at the Benin branch to have conducted a Shepherding visit to Zambia Branch. The highlights of the program was as follows:

Brother Ian Jefferson, a member of the Zambia Branch Committee and overseer of the Service Department served as the program chairman. We had an abbreviated watchtower study conducted by brother Chipasha Mukayi, an elder serving at Zambia bethel. Then came the talk with the theme; Progress of the Kingdom Work in Zambia, which was presented by brother Edward Finch, a member of the Zambia Branch Committee and coordinator of the branch committee. It was exciting to hear progressive reports with an increase in witness publishers to over 256000 active publishers of the good news, and a peak memorial attendance of 1 million people. Exciting expansion of the work of building kingdom halls and assembly halls was a highlight of this report.

Then came two talks by the visiting brothers. First to speak was brother Ben Pritchard, who excited the audience in his talk; "Live By The Expressions of Jehovah", explaining in details the application of Deuteronomy 8:3,4. He begun his talk with a local Zambian phrase in Cinyanja which goes as; "Mwamuna Ni Pamala", which means when translated, a man cannot live without eating food. His expression of this Cinyanja phrase excited all of us and received an applause from the audience. Then he went on to encourage all us with exciting field experience reports from the West Africa territory. His talk fortified many of us to continue living each passing day by the expressions of Jehovah.

The highlight of the program was the keynote talk, delivered by brother Mark Sanderson, with the theme; "Completely Victorious". With a great enthusiasm and well expressed happiness, brother Sanderson brought the loving greetings and expressions of love from the governing body and the United State Bethel Families. He begun his talk by relating experiences of brothers undergoing severe trials in various countries and how faithful and loyally are maintaining there integrity despite undue hardships by means of decrees and oppressions by the human governments. He encouraged the audience to take advantage of Zambia's continued enjoyment of peace so that we can take a full measure in the proclamation of Jehovah's kingdom. His talk also emphasized the fact that despite undergoing trials, we should strive to remain focus and determined to loyally continuing serving Jehovah. He made a call to all brothers in the audience to reach out for privileges of service and made it practically possible that the organization needs more fine young men to serve Jehovah and he also encouraged all elders and traveling overseers present to see to it that they help all young ones and men in the organization to reach out for these privileges.

It was an exciting program that has fortified my faith to increase my share in the proclamation of Jehovah's kingdom and to continue holding firm to the precious truth about God's established kingdom. In conclusion, brother Sanderson gave an heartfelt and touching prayer which received an applause from the audience at it's conclusion. Indeed this was an exciting occasion to be part of this well prepared spiritual banquet that we have had.

The program was streamed to 14 RTOs around the country including the other 10 locations around the country, with a combined attendance of 67000.

Thank you, Brother Isaac, for sharing these wonderful highlights from the Shepherding Visit! It sounds like an incredibly uplifting experience, especially with Brother Sanderson’s and Brother Pritchard’s encouragement to strengthen our reliance on Jehovah and to stay focused on Kingdom work. It’s truly inspiring to hear about the impressive increase in publishers and the enthusiastic attendance for the program across Zambia! The unity shown by such a large gathering and the personal touches, like Brother Pritchard’s use of a local phrase, really reflect the love and care of our global brotherhood. May Jehovah continue to bless the efforts of all our brothers and sisters in Zambia and worldwide as we remain ‘completely victorious’ in our service to Him.

Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words! It truly was a spiritually refreshing experience. Brother Sanderson and Brother Pritchard’s visit reminded us of the privilege and joy we have to serve Jehovah, especially during these critical times. The emphasis on strengthening our reliance on Him and keeping Kingdom work central in our lives couldn’t have been more timely.

Indeed, seeing the increase in publishers and the enthusiasm shown during the program was incredibly uplifting. The love and unity among Jehovah's people here in Zambia and worldwide, highlighted even by Brother Pritchard’s heartfelt use of a local phrase, were reminders of the closeness we share as a global family. It filled all of us with deep appreciation for Jehovah’s spirit at work.

May Jehovah continue to bless you, as we all strive to stay focused and 'completely victorious' in our service to Him. Let’s continue encouraging one another and building each other up as we await the fulfillment of all His promises.

Warm Christian love to you
