Silver coating

Recommended Posts

Why are many rich people so hard-hearted? One day a man came to a scholar and wanted to know: “Master, why are rich people usually so hard-hearted and cold?” Without answering, the master asked him: “Go to the window and look through the glass?” The man stepped to the window and looked out. “What do you see?” “What am I supposed to see? I see the people, the street, the park, the blue sky, the sun.” Now the master asked the man to stand in front of the mirror - which he did. “And what do you see now?” ‘Well, I see myself!’ the man replied, puzzled. So you've answered your own question: “The only difference between the window glass and the mirror is a layer of silver. Only through this little bit of silver do you suddenly only see yourself!"DID YOU DEAR READER UNDERSTAND THIS IS REALLY WELL EXPLAINED?

Interesting illustration but  might need explaining. The story compares a window and a mirror to explain how money can affect people.

When you look through a window, you see the world....other people, nature, and life happening around you. But when you look at a mirror, you only see yourself.

The difference? A thin layer of silver on the back of the mirror.

The silver represents money. The lesson is, when people focus too much on wealth, they might stop seeing others and only see themselves....their own wants, needs, and desires.

It can make you selfish if you only see yourself,... like looking in the mirror.

So, the question is: Are you looking through a window or staring into a mirror? :coffee:

Being wealthy or having money can make someone to gain confidence in the society, which is not really wrong.

but some people become overconfident and arrogant because of having money or being wealthy.

Not all wealthy people are arrogant,I have seen some very humble wealthy people, usually most wealthy brothers are very humble and even generous.

True, it’s not impossible, and some are balanced .......but overall....it seems to be what Jesus said...Matthew 19:24 .

Jesus used hyperbole here but nevertheless the emphasis is on the unique and especially difficult challenges a rich man would have to overcome.

Of course some have different definitions of what being “rich” means.
