Bible sales rose 22% through October compared to the same period last year, according to data released this month by Circana Bookscan. Total U.S. print book sales were only up 1%, according to The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the trend.

"The religion book market has been a bright spot of growth within the total book market since the pandemic," Brenna Connor, an industry analyst with Circana, told Fox News Digital in a statement. "Bibles are leading that growth, but other subjects like Christian Life and Biblical Studies are also up, reflecting increased interest for Christian subjects in the U.S."

Print Bible sales hit a five-year low of just under 8.9 million in 2020, according to Circana's data, before beginning to tick upward again. Sales surpassed 13.7 million in the first 10 months of this year, Circana reported.

We certainly have a big opportunity this year to get people actually reading what they bought.

What good is it when people don’t really read them?

Leviticus 19:18: “‘You must not take vengeance nor hold a grudge against the sons of your people, and you must love your fellow man as yourself.”

I have noticed a massive increase in people being interested in the bible.

I have noticed a HUGE jump in people saying we are in "end times" and discussing prophecy online. Looking through the comments sections on videos related to current events is very interesting indeed. There is a hunger for understanding.

There are many famous people who have become Christians or started speaking about their faith openly over the last 4 years. These are influential people and no doubt they have had an impact on their "fans" and perhaps they have sparked people to look into their bibles again.

From the  threads that I have read, many people believe we are in a time of spiritual awakening. People are using the term "spiritual warfare" - one scripture that I have seen quoted multiple times in comments and on the reels of "famous christians" is this:

Ephesians 6:12

"Because we have a struggle, not against blood and flesh, but against the governments, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the wicked spirit forces in the heavenly places"

Basically, people with any faith in God know "summats up" - Let's get to it people!

I don't think I made myself clear enough, so I will down here:

What I meant was, was that in general, at least from what I have seen in my area, people have become less and less interested in religion.

During the service meeting, we focus on helping people find a solution to their problems thru God's Kingdom, and to help them understand why the Bible's advice is relevant to them, rather than dive straight into the meat (prophecies, religious lectures, etc.)

The organization has recognized this and tailored the video presentations to reflect this reality around the world. Different parts of the world have different circumstances, and thing going on, but in general, I have seen more apathy towards religion.

Many people may have a Bible in the home, but many don't pay more than superficial attention to the meaning behind the Scriptures because with they have been put off by religion or they think that advice from a 3,000 year old book does not pertain to them. That's what I meant earlier.

So the challenge is, making Bible truth relevant to people today. Why does it matter to them, and how much do they really understand the Bible?

Here is an interesting article I found from USA Today on the issue:

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2024/08/13/gen-z-women-less-religious/74673083007/

Keep in mind about the prophecy @ Revelation 16:12 about the 'waters' of BTG 's support "drying up", meaning that before her destruction, she'd lose the support of the masses.

*** w22 July p. 6 par. 15 The Kingdom Is in Place! ***

15 How do we know that the end of Babylon the Great is near? To answer that question, it is helpful to remember that the ancient city of Babylon was partly protected by the waters of the mighty Euphrates River. The book of Revelation compares the millions of supporters of Babylon the Great to protective “waters.” (Rev. 17:15) But it also reveals that the waters would ‘dry up,’ indicating that the world empire of false religion would lose many of its supporters. (Rev. 16:12) In fulfillment of that prophecy, today a considerable number of people have abandoned false religion and have begun looking elsewhere for answers.

"Elsewhere" doesn't necessarily mean people are turning to the Bible. But not to say that there aren't people out there who are really looking and truly want to know the truth.

But from what I have personally observed, spirituality is declining.

Leviticus 19:18: “‘You must not take vengeance nor hold a grudge against the sons of your people, and you must love your fellow man as yourself.”
