Have you watched Banana Ball? (Baseball with a twist)

Recommended Posts

I love the game of baseball since I was a kid. I have really been enjoying a new style of baseball called "Banana Ball". It's athletic, entertaining and fun to watch. Think if the Harlem Globetrotters played baseball is a good description.  They are currently on a sellout tour. They played at the football stadium in Tampa to almost 60,000.

Here's a breakdown of some key Banana Ball rules:
Inning Points: Each inning is worth one point, with the team having the most runs in that inning winning the point.
Time Limit: Games have a two-hour time limit, with no new innings starting after 1 hour and 50 minutes unless tied.
No Stepping Out: Batters cannot step out of the batter's box, and doing so results in a strike.
No Bunting: Bunting is not allowed.
Steal First: Batters can steal first base on any pitch, even if it's not a wild pitch or passed ball.
No Walks: Instead of walks, batters sprint to first base on a ball four, and the catcher must throw the ball to every position player before it's live.
Fan Out: If a fan catches a foul ball, it's an out.
Showdown Tiebreaker: If the game is tied after two hours or nine innings, a showdown tiebreaker occurs, with each team selecting a pitcher and hitter to face off with only one fielder.
Golden Batter Rule: A team can send any batter to hit in any spot in the lineup.
Banana Ball Challenge: Fans can challenge rulings on the field.
No Mound Visits: No mound visits are allowed.

On broken ground I took my chance, Oh Rise with me and take a stance"
