The story of a death row brother by the name Nekata?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever heard of an account of a young man named Nekata serving on death row in Japan? Allegedly, this was someone receiving the Awake! and Watchtower publications in prison, eventually contacted by the organization, studied with some visiting brothers and eventually baptized. Then, sadly, his sentence was carried out despite a remarkable transformation in his personality.

I had this story given me decades ago but long forgotten who I got it from. It is 4 pages of what looks to be a copy of something manually typed. I'd found it digging through some old papers. I tried looking up the keywords "Nekata" and "death row", but nothing found in our libraries.

Encontrei-a vasculhando alguns papéis antigos.

Here in Brazil we listened to this experience on audio cassette tapes. They were copied and passed from brothers to brothers

I can see why, it is such a powerful example of Jehovah's spirit of love and mercy in action.

There have been many lawbreakers who repented of their crimes and became followers of Jesus Christ while in prison. The loss of one’s liberties and the harsh realities of incarceration have motivated many to accept our Savior’s forgiveness.

Because of His boundless mercy, Jehovah has never turned away a repentant convict, regardless of the magnitude of his or her crime
