obsidian mu/TEX/tum - Obsidian plugin

I would like to make available another Obsidian plugin: mu/TEX/tum

 

This is to allow easy importing (with conversion to Markdown) of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OpenDocument, RTF, EPUB, CSV, and PDF documents.

 

How this may be useful to this audience?
For example, the assembly/convention programs can be downloaded from jw.org in RTF (Rich Text Format):

 

You will just need to put the RTF file (or whatever file you want to import/convert) into your Obsidian vault. Right-click it there to have to option to import:

 

And it will generate a note like the one below, wherere you can add your notes:

 

If you also have the tra.VER:ture plugin, your scriptures will be auto-linked (and colored to your liking) - as you can see above.

 

 

Of course, you can import/convert all kinds of documents. Many of our publications are available as ePub archives, for example. Keep in mind that the conversion is only as good as the original - and with the limitations of Markdown :-) Also, note that if you try to import PDFs, these must be text-based only; scanned or image-only PDFs will not work, as this would require OCR.

Hi Eryk, 

Thanks for this new plugin!  

 

I tried your example.

I downloaded the 2026 Program but in PDF

 

But the output was in another language and had mistakes in formatting.

Maybe PDF does not work so well since it has pictures?
