I recently got the Samsung 4. a Galaxy Note.

I noticed on the old Samsung Nexus there is an Android beam that you switch on and can put the phones back to back and then transfer some apps etc. I have been trying to find a similar feature on the new Samsung. Especially for transferring all the phone numbers accross without having to reenter them all again. I not sure how to go about all of that.

I have also changed my email account on that mobile and I am not sure who I should contact on the forum to let them know..

Thanks for any advice.

I forgot to add. On the previous Android there was a setting for desktop. When I come on to the Forum on the Mobile there is a setting for the desktop. Then I can read the whole page. and I was looking for the same setting on The new Android and couldn't find the setting, Maybe I am in the wrong area?

The tapping of the phones together to transfer information like contacts, etc, is a feature found in Ice Cream Sandwhich (Android 4.0) and higher, and both phones must support it - as far as I know. I have never used it myself. I keep all my contacts backed up with Google Gmail Contacts, all my photos backed up with Google Plus, all my videos backed up with Google Plus/YouTube, all my music backed up with Google Music, and all my other files backed up with Google Drive.

I can drop my phone in the toilet and not lose anything. I can get a new Droid and poof! everything of mine is on it instantaneously.

Thanks Bob I will back my files that way too.

When I was going out with my hubby. He had got his first mobile phone, It was the old heavy bricks. this was 13yrs ago. He was on a council heavy duty lawn mower. He was also distracted he said. He thought he put his phone in a safe place. & he saw a phone on the grass and tried to avoid it but actually killed it. Some time had passed by he needed to make a call and realized the phone he ran over was his. Its been one memory not to forget.
