Wife Swap---It's Not What You Think!

Recommended Posts

Monday night or was it Tuesday morning, I  was watching Project Runway something educational on PBS when I accidently rolled on to the remote  and  switched the channel to Wife Swap. One of the wives being swapped was a homeschooler who, once again, confirmed most Americans' misconceptions about those of us who choose to edgeumacate  educate our kids outside of a traditional school setting: that we are all banjo strumming, scripture quoting, missing teeth, manifesto writing misfits who sit our dozen young 'uns at the kitchen table and teach them that dinosaurs didn't exist...not that there's anything wrong with that. Wife Swap's homeschooling mom lives with her first cousin  husband and two children on a farm in Iowa.

I could not go on watching this garbage form of entertainment and was forced in to returning the station back to Project Runway  PBS.  Have any of you ever viewed Wife Swap and what did you think?

I did watch it because a sister told me her niece is going to be on it.I'm not sure if she is a witness and I can't remember exactly who told me that...lol...I think I know who it was.I'll ask her.

Well, anyway I thought I'd check it out and it was shocking! The episode was about the acceptance of a ménage a trois relationship. I had to turn it.

Well, I stand corrected.  Maybe it is about wife swapping!     I know if I had that one for a wife I'd want to swap her out too!

Tell me if you find out and maybe it is on Netflix

I have watched it a few times, they do a pretty good job at finding polar opposite families. I hate the super snobby, "nobody can teach me", my way or the highway people. A funny episode was a conservative, super strict and organized mom who was switched with a family who lived like they were pirates. The dad didn't work and all day he dressed and talked like a pirate. I kept thinking " are they like that when you get them out in service". Even weirder was the fact they were part of a pirate community and even have pirate get togethers. As they say it takes all kinds...
