Not Alone

I thought we had a poetry thread in here somewhere, but I couldnt find it. Anyhow, writing is one of the easiest ways for me to release tension and it really tends to help me to weasel out of depression. I just wanted to share a poem I wrote this afternoon. I wrote it as Jehovah's letter to me, but really it goes for any of us because we're all struggling in one way or another.

Not Alone

How long will you drift on in sadness

Though you know that I am here?

How long will you cry out in pain

When I've been there to dry your tears?

You're terrified to take a step

Although I clear the path before you

So afraid to come to harm

Although I said I'd see you through

I've held your hand on the darkest days

When you were cold, you felt my embrace

I'm here to keep you safe and sound

To keep your feet firm on the ground

How long before you realize

What I would give to see those eyes

Light up in peace and happiness

No longer dimmed by all the stress

No matter what you're going through

I'm always here to comfort you

My love for you will not subside

No matter what you feel inside

I just wanted to share a poem I wrote this afternoon. I wrote it as Jehovah's letter to me, but really it goes for any of us because we're all struggling in one way or another.

That was really nice!

I think writing it from Jehovah's perspective adds such a nice touch to it, and makes him more real to us. The slave did that with the one youth song, sung from God's perspective, and it is just so cool.
