More news on the bill: Ukraine-Russia war latest: Trump approves major Russia sanctions bill after Zelensky says war could end soon Trump to punish countries like India, China and Brazil for buying cheap Russian oil Donald Trump has given his approval for Republicans to push ahead with a bill in Congress that would punish countries for buying Russian oil. Senator Lindsey Graham said the president "green-lit" the new sanctions legislation when the pair met yesterday. Citing China, India and Brazil as the biggest offenders, he said: “This bill will allow President Trump to punish those countries who buy cheap Russian oil fueling Putin’s war machine.”https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/ukraine-russia-war-trump-putin-zelensky-peace-map-latest-news-b2896550.html

This huge! This bill was sitting for months and months without action. Consequences of this bill will impact Russia dramatically in a economic way. GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham said that President Donald Trump has given the greenlight on a long-awaited bill to impose stiff sanctions on countries purchasing Russia oil — and the bill could come up in the Senate next week. Graham and Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal have been pushing for a floor vote on their sanctions legislation for months, arguing that the way to break Putin’s war machine in Ukraine is through Russia’s reliance on oil markets. The bill would allow the president to impose harsh sanctions on nations that purchase oil, natural gas and uranium from Russia, with exceptions for countries who have made contributions to Ukraine’s war effort.https://edition.cnn.com/world/live-news/trump-venezuela-oil-greenland-07-01-26

Many are now asking whether the United Nations has any future at all if it cannot fulfil its first promise of maintaining international peace and security. Has the UN reached the end of its lifespan? It does, therefore, appear as though we are witnessing the collapse of the UN-led international peace and security system in real time. https://theconversation.com/venezuela-gaza-ukraine-is-the-un-failing-272703

Just take note that following comes from the state own Russian RT channel. Russia treats its soldiers as warriors on a holy mission from God, President Vladimir Putin said after attending a Christmas service on Wednesday. The president met with veterans of the Ukraine conflict and their families at the Saint George the Victorious Church outside Moscow. “You should be rightfully proud of your fathers and your mothers, as the Russian people have always been proud of their warriors,” Putin told a group of children. “We often call the Lord the Savior because he came to earth to save all people. It is the same with our warriors, because they are always, under the direction of the Lord, on a mission to defend the fatherland and its people,” he added. “At all times, Russia has viewed its warriors as carrying out a holy mission under the direction of the Lord,” Putin said.https://www.rt.com/russia/630683-putin-russian-soldiers-mission-god/

KOTS hmmm? Well UK is not invading anyone, USA acts alone not as a duel power in this regard. Duel world power? Not sure ... they seem to be very divided on the issues. But perhaps those issues do not erase the relationship they have as a duel world power? Prime minister assures colleagues he may one day stand up to Donald Trump – but not yet. Starmer has publicly backed the Danish prime minister after she demanded the US stop its threats to forcibly take over Greenland, which is largely autonomous but remains part of the Danish kingdom, for security and mineral resources. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/jan/05/keir-starmer-masterclass-hedging-bets-venezuela-raid

To pray for someone is different than making statements. When we pray we do not take sides but we urge Jehovah to support our brothers. Something to think about: What Jehovah is teaching us below? Injustice often inflames political passions. Jesus’ enemies tried to trap Jesus by getting him to take sides on a taxation issue. The tax in question was the “head tax,” a tax of one denarius levied on Roman subjects. (Read Matthew 22:16-18.) The Jews especially resented this tax. It represented their subjection to Rome. The “party followers of Herod” who raised this issue hoped that if Jesus denounced the tax, he might be accused of sedition. If Jesus said that taxation was a necessary burden, he could lose the support of his followers. 10 Jesus was careful to remain neutral on the taxation issue. “Pay back . . . Caesar’s things to Caesar, but God’s things to God,” he said. (Matt. 22:21) Of course, Jesus knew that corruption was common among tax collectors. But Jesus did not want to get sidetracked, diverted from the much more important issue. That was God’s Kingdom, which would be the real solution. He thereby set the example for all his followers. They should avoid becoming involved in political issues, no matter how right or just a certain cause might seem. Christians seek the Kingdom of God and his righteousness. They do that instead of forming strong opinions about, or speaking out against, certain unjust practices.—Matt. 6:33. W18 June -

Maybe? Maybe not …. But turmoil is here for sure. Things can quickly escalate or settle down …. In the meantime Jehovah can act suddenly and make things very different overnight. -

If this happens Japan said they might step in ... it would be messy and not as easy as it appears. -
The CIA has assessed Ukraine was not targeting a residence used by Russian President Vladimir Putin in a recent drone attack in the north of his country, according to US officials, undercutting an assertion the Russian leader had made to President Donald Trump in a Monday phone call. The CIA’s director John Ratcliffe briefed Trump on the assessment Wednesday, the officials said.https://edition.cnn.com/2025/12/31/politics/cia-ukraine-drone-putin-residence

This is on the news: Ukrainian and European officials have rejected Moscow's claims that Ukraine targeted a personal residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin with a drone attack this week, an incident that threatens to disrupt U.S.-led peace negotiations heading into the new year. U.S. national security officials have found Ukraine did not target Putin or one of his residences in a drone strike, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday. Reuters could not immediately verify the report. The paper reported the conclusion was supported by a CIA assessment that found no attempt to target Putin or one of his residences. A CIA spokesperson could not be immediately reached for comment. U.S. President Donald Trump initially expressed sympathy for the Russian charge, telling reporters on Monday that Putin had informed him of the alleged incident and that he was "very angry" about it. By Wednesday, he appeared more skeptical, sharing on social media a New York Post editorial accusing Russia of blocking peace in Ukraine. Ukraine emphatically denied a Russian allegation Monday that a Ukrainian drone attack targeted one of President Vladimir Putin’s residences. President Donald Trump said Putin told him of the alleged attack in a phone call early Monday. Trump indicated that he took Putin at his word before allowing, in response to a reporter’s question about the Ukrainian denial, that the attack may not have occurred. As a result of the alleged attack in the Novgorod region, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who first publicly aired the allegation, said “Russia’s negotiating position will be revised” in the ongoing peace talks seeking to end Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine. Lavrov said no damage or casualties resulted from the incident but that the Russian military has selected targets for “retaliatory strikes.”https://edition.cnn.com/2025/12/29/europe/russia-claim-ukrainian-drone-attack-putin-residence-intl

US president attacks UN for 'very little assistance,' claiming America has become 'real United Nations' (in relation to Thailand- Cambodia conflict) He then attacked the UN, claiming Washington has effectively replaced the global body. "With all of the wars and conflicts I have settled and stopped ... perhaps the United States has become the real United Nations, which has been of very little assistance or help in any of them," Trump said. He added that the organization "must start getting active and involved in world peace." https://www.aa.com.tr/en/americas/trump-says-thailand-cambodia-to-go-back-to-living-in-peace-after-ceasefire/3783263

I found RT, CNN and Al Jezeera most biased. (Al Jazeera is viewed as Qatar propaganda arm and got banned in few countries for biased views on Hamas, Muslim Brotherhood, and anti Israel views ..etc - since October 7 attack it got even worse.) RT is outright propaganda tool of Russia. CNN can't stand Trump. In relation to PBS, yes they are biased but not as much as 3 main ones above. Interesting read about PBS here: https://www.allsides.com/news-source/pbs-newshour-media-bias#what-this-rating-means Despite instances of left-leaning story choice, reviewers from the left, center, and right noted many instances of balance. Awake magazine had an excellent article on this subject. Readers were encouraged to meditate on those questions: PROVIDER: Does the report come from a credible, authoritative person or organization? Does the program or publication have a reputation for seriousness or for sensationalism? Who provide the funds for the news source? SOURCES: Is there evidence of thorough research? Is the story based on just one source? Are the sources reliable, fair, and objective? Are they balanced, or have they been selected to convey only one point of view? PURPOSE: Ask yourself: ‘Is the news item primarily to inform or entertain? Is it trying to sell or support something?’ TONE: When the tone of a news item is angry, spiteful, or highly critical, it suggests that an attack is under way and not a reasoned argument. CONSISTENCY: Are the facts consistent with those in other articles or reports? If stories contradict one another, be careful! TIMELINESS: Is the information recent enough to be acceptable? Something thought to be correct 20 years ago may be discounted today. On the other hand, if the news item is a breaking story, it may lack complete and comprehensive information. Sorry - lets just go back to PS discussions or news - no need to reply to this post.

That wasn’t my point, sorry did not explain properly. When I read CNN I gloss over any negative articles about Trump because I know they are anti-Trump. I will not waste my time. Same with Al Jazeera if they publish article about Israel, especially negative I would choose not to read it. Political issues and comments are very biased on any network. I prefer to stick with current, factual information presented there. Example of factual reporting is something like this: Zelensky to meet Trump on Sunday, Magnitude 6.7 earthquake in Japan etc. Simply saying I do not read biased reporting or articles.
