Greenfield Kingdom Hall construction underway

^[1]GREENFIELD, Mass. – Hundreds of Western Massachusetts Jehovah’s Witnesses began building the new Greenfield Kingdom Hall last week.

They hope to have their house of worship finished by the middle of next month. Since the 1980s Jehovah’s Witnesses have completely built their houses of worship themselves.

Spokesman Robb Nicoll told 22News, Witnesses from Western and Central Massachusetts are working on Greenfield Kingdom Hall.

“Certainly pride is a big part of it, a lot of satisfaction from what we’re accomplishing,” said Nicoll. “It’s part of our worship to give back to God.”

By doing the work themselves these Western Massachusetts Jehovah’s Witnesses have saved half a million dollars in construction costs.

Robb Nicoll said it’s a state of the art construction, with a geothermal heating and cooling system and a rooftop solar system.
