Last night I watched (on the interweb) a live edition of this show from Seattle (radio show) as the guests were Dr Stephen Meyer and David Klinghoffer of the Discovery Institute in Seattle.

They discussed a little about Meyer's book "Darwin's Doubt" and took some phone questions.  Meyer shows in the book the scientific basis for the Intelligent design hypothesis of the origin of phyla in the "Cambrian Explosion".  The immense influx of information in DNA and elsewhere to construct these animals, he argues, can only come from a conscious intelligent mind.  In our experience, intelligence is the only source of complex specified information, whether that is computer code or language etc.

 

It was fascinating stuff.  One caller said that as soon as you identify that 'intelligence' as "God" then you leave the realms of science!

 

Also interesting was that David Klinghoffer recounted the very first review of "Darwin's Doubt". It was published before the publication of the book (!) by a staunch Darwinist who said just 5 words: "Baby Jesus made the phyla."  How ridiculous this makes him look.
