Does anyone know which publications formerly on jw.org were ruled "extremist" by the Russian courts? I just can't imagine what we would publish that could be specifically considered any more extremist than most else. Heaven knows I'm sure not going to search google for "banned JW publications." That's just asking for trouble.

The Russian court's definition of "extremist" includes discriminating against other groups or religions.

The partial list of publications that have been ruled as extremist (70, according to the 2014 yearbook) includes "My Book of Bible Stories", "Draw Close to Jehovah", and "What Does the Bible Really Teach?". Of course the website and literature ban is only a tiny part of a much wider attack on the organization, which has been happening to varying degrees for nearly twenty years, but any victory we can get will only bring more evidence forward to help put a stop to the other cases of persecution.

The full list of things going on in Russia is too long to post here, but the reports and experiences linked in the index (http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1200274968#h=87:0-87:0) should give a clearer picture of just how much our brothers and sisters are going through.

I know that whole region has been a hotbed of merciless persecution for...well, I can't remember when it hasn't.  I was curious as to context to see what conceivable rationalization they were using to label publications as "extremist." But My Book of Bible Stories?  Now that I consider it, I can't imagine what I was thinking to suspect any form of reason would ever enter into their motivation.  They are entirely unreasonable.

Anyway, thanks for sharing.
