Gout is when your body stores up too much uric acid. It can cause puss in your toes. My wife's grandfather had it really bad. It makes the fibres of your muscles sticky. The sour cherries can be bought in the foreign food section of your grocery store. We get them from Croatia I think. They are packed in a light syrup. I love them. 

 

Eating too much pork and red meat causes gout. Beer can cause a flair up. Mostly it can effect men but women can get it to. My mother in law thinks she can have a bit a trouble from time to time with it. So it isn't exclusive. My MIL buys the cherries by the pail frozen too. I like the jar ones better.

You can get the cherry juice at health food stores here in the US, but my family always said that any kind of cherries worked for gout. I've never had it but I sure do love cherries.

That is true but the sour ones work the best and the fastest. It a chemical that is in the cherries that is more abundant in the sour ones. I cannot for the life of me remember what it is.

Ive heard that about tart cherries too!
