At least 10 United Nations staff were murdered - two by beheading - after extremists stormed their compound in northern Afghanistan today.

According to reports, protesters in the northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif beheaded two U.N. guards, seized their weapons and began blasting those inside the compound after a demonstration against Koran burnings in the U.S. turned violent.

The bloodshed is the worst attack on the U.N. in Afghanistan since the war began in 2001.

Early reports said that 10 people had been killed in the attack but this afternoon that up to 20 UN staff died.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon told reporters in Nairobi that the attack was 'outrageous and cowardly'.

And tonight pastor Jones remained defiant over his decision to hold the Koran burning, saying it was time for 'Islam to be held accountable'.

He said: 'We must hold these countries and people accountable for what they have done as well as for any excuses they may use to promote their terrorist activities. The time has come to hold Islam accountable.

'Our United States government and our President must take a close, realistic look at the radical element Islam. Islam is not a religion of peace.

'We demand action from the United Nations. Muslim dominated countries can no longer be allowed to spread their hate against Christians and minorities.

'They must alter the laws that govern their countries to allow for individual freedoms and rights, such as the right to worship, free speech, and to move freely without fear of being attacked or killed.'

GAINESVILLE, Florida — The US pastor, whose burning of a Koran sparked deadly violence in Afghanistan, has called for "immediate" US and UN action against its perpetrators, saying the whole religion of Islam must be held accountable.

"Islam is not a religion of peace," Dove World Outreach Center Pastor Terry Jones said in a statement issued after seven foreign UN workers had been killed in Afghanistan by protesters angered by the Koran burning, in the deadliest attack on the UN there since the 2001 invasion.

"The time has come to hold Islam accountable," he added.

I wouldn't expect too much to come from any calls to deal with Islam, the governments of most countries today cannot see for the life of them that anything is wrong with Islam. Take this little brouhaha, they aren't pointing to the Muslims and saying "Gee, those people are rather nasty, why aren't we doing anything about them?" they are instead looking at the pastor and blaming him for what is happening.

We are currently living in a time where Bibles are burned all over the world, Saudi Arabia burns hundreds each year because the Bible is banned there and not a complaint is raised from world governments, but "desecrate" one single Qur'an and even governments in supposedly "Christian" countries will come down on you like a tonne of bricks no matter what their free speech laws say. I don't expect Islam to be attacked by world governments, they are desperately in love with it and see Christianity and Judaism, particularly Zionism but Jews in general to a lesser extent, as enemies of peace (16,500+ Islamic terror attacks since 11/09/2001 notwithstanding). Right now the world is firmly in the grip of the political Left and it is expanding every year and the Left are deeply in league with Muslims. If over 16,500 attacks killing over 250,000 people in a decade can't shake their belief that Islam is quite simply wonderful then a few murders after an otherwise obscure fringe pastor burns a copy of their holy talisman isn't going to shake their firm belief that Christianity (us included) is the most dangerous religion full of potential terrorists who would love nothing more than subjugate the world and make everyone Christians.

It is more likely that the thing in Revelation about cutting off people's heads is referring to Islam because it is a Qur'anic command and was used by Mohammed in his wars of annihilation and that they and the political Left in control of the UN plays a major part after banning literally all other religions. Both the Left and Islam want to dominate the world and believe they must remake it in their image.

Christedom churches does not know what Jehovah's purpose is for them and all other false religion(destruction has been decided for them) if they have that knowledge they will know what is good for them. The "Revelation Climax" book explains it this way -

13 Early in the Lord’s day, calamity strikes the wild beast. I am not aware of a thing in Revelation like this. Perhaps you were referring to a different book of the bible?
