Question for any Android users with multiple languages on their ereaders?

Recommended Posts

Hi.

I use a Samsung note 8.0 and use it to study for my meetings in English and Spanish.

Does anyone know of a good ereader for epub that has either a split screen to view both languages at the same time, or an easy way to switch back and forth.  Now I'm using Moon Reader, and I use the tags to separate my English and Spanish publications, but it's a little bit of drama to switch my Spanish WT to English.  Any thoughts????

David.

Hi Brother David,

I also have a Galaxy Note and I use Moon Reader Pro.

1 of the main reasons I had wanted a Galaxy Note was because of the "Split Screen" capability.

Here are just a couple of suggestions that might help you.

1} You can open up your WT in Spanish in Moon Reader, then you can use another ereader(like Aldiko, ezPDF reader, etc)

to open up the PDF or EPUB of the English WT.

Now you have 2 Apps running and it is easier to switch back and forth from Spanish to English by just pressing

the icon on the bottom left of your screen that has a double square look which shows

you which Apps are open at the moment. Then you just press the other ereader and there is your other WT.

This is not the best idea but it is a quicker way of switching back and forth between WTs.

2} The best way is to do the same as above by having 2 different ereaders open with your 2 WTs but

then giving permission for each ereader App to have access to the Galaxy Note "Multi Window" function.

Then your screen can have both the Spanish and English WT next to each other in 2 windows

and it is very easy to follow along in both at the same time!

The problem is that to give these ereaders access to the "Multi Window" function of a Galaxy Note,

      the tablet must be "Rooted".

I had my tablet "Rooted" just for this purpose.

If your tablet is not Rooted and you want this feature then you either have to Root it your self or

      pay someone to do it.

You can try asking here on JWtalk if anyone can help you "Root" your tablet.

Or see if there is a brother in your Cong. who is a "Techy" and knows how to do this.

Actually some young teenage brothers know how to do this.

I hope this makes sense?

And I hope these suggestions can help you.

Welcome to JWtalk and I am glad to meet you David! :)

I don't know about eReaders, but Adobe Reader works in split screen (without rooting) and so does iSilo. I used them both in split screen when I was doing 2 languages on an android tablet.
