Hi friends!

I'm not sure if everyone is aware of this built-in feature of your iPhone, so I thought I would post about it. Within your iPhone's Health app, you can easily set up a Medical ID. This ID will then be available from your lock screen under the Emergency button in the lower left corner. This allows a paramedic to tap that button to can see your Medical ID which will show them your name, age, emergency contacts, medical conditions, notes, and other information you’d like to include. I set up my iPhone’s Medical ID to alert medics that I have an Advance Medical Directive in my wallet. Specifically, this refers them to my Designation of Patient Advocate document.

I've posted a video on my site showing how to set it up.

Can you friends tell me if there is a similar feature on Android and Windows phones? If so, how do you set it up?

Its a great idea.

Tell you something funny. Here when your involved in an accident the first thing they still is your phone. You will be greatful if at least they call someone in your contacts to inform you.

Still its a great idea.

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.

Wow, what a great app! I installed it on my phone. The only drawback for me is that I can't get a widget on my lock screen but I can put the app icon on there and use the widget for my homescreen. I didn't like the way they put your birthdate on there either (if you put in June 10, 1975 - it reads as 10-6-1975 and that makes it look like your birthday is October 6, 1975) so i switched it around to make it look like my real birthdate so that there is no confusion when they glance at that information.

Thanks so much Eric for letting us know about this!

Don't live for the moment - live for the future! :D
