Vancouver Ca. trip in July

Recommended Posts

I'll be in Vancouver Ca. the beginning of July. I'd appreciate some suggestions of places to see on a limited amount to spend.

There are lots of beautiful places to see in and around town Sis.  The beautiful assembly hall in Surrey, And breath taking views from Whistler Mountain, home of the Winter Olympics a few years ago, The Aquarium at Stanley Park is a must see, and contemporary local native artisans displaying at the park. If you have an extra day Take a ferry from Tsawwassen, Horsehoe Bay over to Vancouver Island to visit Victoria.  Home to Butchart Gardens, The Palace, Wax Museums and double decker buses.

And last but not least the local seafood cuisine. A few years ago some of the finest chefs from Hong Kong set up shop in China town...the food is exquisite.

Vancouver might very well become your favorite cultured large city on the West Coast...

Please be extremely cautious in Gastown Sis. The Junkies inject in full view...the crime rate is high there...watch your car and your purse.    :perplexed:

:scared: I read reviews from Yelp and the trip advisor, they didn't give me a clue. I was going to see the steam clock and http://www.hills.ca/Hill-s-Native-Art-Gallery-Vancouver-18.html

Anything else to replace it?

Vancouver Island is a real treat...

I went for a bit of a drive around the southern part of the island, including a visit to Victoria (capital of BC) with a friend of mine and it was a day well spent.

The Empress Hotel, built by the CPR, at Victoria. This is opposite the port where seaplanes are coming and going.

Royal London Wax Museum, Victoria.html

Some very nice pictures Ray...Thanks for sharing Bro.

The Empress hotel in Victoria very impressive, you can walk in and have a cup of tea...the vibe is a quaint little town on the outskirts of London.

The Royal London Wax Museum formerly Madame Tussaudsis is a must see also.

I would love to go there, but I will be in Vancouver.

Sorry Joan...I just clicked on your link to Hill's Native Art Gallery...my kind of place. I wouldn't take the bus to gas town to get there...but if you can drive there and park in front I'm sure you will be fine. Stanley Park has lot's of cultural and heritage exhibits/tours etc.  You'll love it... ><img src=<'>

You will enjoy the ride through Skagit Valley and Chuckanut. There is so much to see at the Aquarium and Stanley Park that you might not have too much time to take in much of anything else. There is a very nice short Harbor Cruise tour also. And the food...Exquisite

Granville island is a must! Grouse Mtn for a view of the city. It's a beautiful time of year there. Queen Elizabeth Park.

Be sure to buy a day pass for transit it's cheaper and with the dollar difference now you'll save 20 percent on everything. If your not afraid of heights the Capilano Suspension Bridge is fun and the trees magnificent. I'm a little prejudiced I was born and raised in North Vancouver.

Not sure when your going but they have an amazing fireworks show end of July http://hondacelebrationoflight.com/ it's free. ee6dd14f21a2e2ee3977a2e0e289a207.jpg

Enjoy I wish I was there I'd show you the city!

It's really a shame you're not driving the trip... all these things could easily be yours...

Not only that, all roads leading to Seattle are beautiful too.

I'm coming from Portland Or. Taking the Amtrak to Seattle, staying overnight and leaving for Vancouver by Amtrak on July 1. I will be returning at 6:30 AM July 3rd to Portland Or.

Hi Sister Joan

I think you will love Vancouver BC. Public transportation is a snap, scenery beautiful, a lot of good food.

May I recommend breakfast at one of the "De Dutch Pannekoek House"

Their pannekoeken is a delight to look at and a delight to eat.

There are several of them around.  Check them out at http://www.dedutch.com

Our favorite is on the Capilano Road, an area you are almost sure to be visiting.

Yours, 'Old'

Lincoln County
