Watermelon with Basil Sugar

Recommended Posts

I love Basil!  It is excellent in so many various cocktail drinks, salads, and vegetables.  It is really a beautiful addition to watermelon also and makes such a pretty, light dessert.

Chill your watermelon then cut into triangular wedges and stand them up on a beautiful platter.  Take 1/2 cup each of sugar and basil and process using the intermittent button on your food processor. Sprinkle or lightly dust the watermelon with the sugar/basil mixture and it really brings the watermelon to life!

If you want to try a twist on watermelon, making it an elegant dessert--try it!  I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Wow that sounds really interesting!  It's a 'must try" for me!  Like you, I love basil, it's one of my favorite herbs.  I usually just husk corn on the cob (without removing the husk at the bottom of the ear), butter the corn and lay basil leaves on it then wrap the corn back up in the husk (with out the silk strands) and put on the grill!  So delicious!  Add a little salt and pepper to taste!

Don't live for the moment - live for the future! :D
