Night is a shadow. The fact is that night on Earth or any other world is a shadow. 

When night falls, you’re standing within the shadow of Earth.

 

I'm going back out tonight to watch the Harvest Moon rise.  According to the above,

I expect to see a total eclipse of me as the sun sinks slowly out of sight.  ^_^
