‘Setting Your Mind on the Spirit Means Life and Peace’

This is going to be an interesting study article.

“Those who live according to the spirit, [set their minds] on the things of the spirit.”—ROM. 8:5.

Is this possibly next years text?

Singh numbers continue to differ between English and French editons

I noticed that too. In November's French edition two song numbers for each song were given, the second one in brackets. That would mean they weren't sure the French songbook would be ready when it came time to study that Watchtower in January. (That's similar to the way our English Watchtowers gave song numbers when our current songbook was just released.) In December's French edition, however, only one song number is given for each song, and the theme of the songs seem to be from the current songbook, that is, more in harmony with the subject of the Watchtower articles. That would mean they're more certain the new French songbook won't be available for February yet.

Did what I just said make any sense to you? If you understood that, please explain it to me.

Yup, things change, go with the flow, we'll understand it later...

Typically, an article about the year text appears in the January Watchtower, to be considered in March. This issue is always released after the annual meeting. I guess this year could be an exception, but more than likely they would announce in the study article that the theme scripture for that article would be the 2017 year text.
