NY Doicese takes out loans to settle abuse victims

This may be the wrong category b/c t is network news, not alt news. I wonder how long/ how much the "long term loan" specs will be, but it is putting parameters on those having been sexually abused by Cath clergy and is being mediated by Kenneth Feinberg.  Sad.

Articles like this have so many words that clutter up the real content I generally get cross eyed and can't focus. But what I did think was it's all about covering up the real truth and scope. I guess that was a main point:

 

New York's "restrictive statute of limitations has enabled Dolan to hide the true scope of the clergy abuse crisis in the NY archdiocese," she wrote in an email. "His proposed victims' compensation fund is another tactic designed to fend off disclosure."
