When I hear the word "pastry", I instantly salivate.   However, after looking at those designs, not so much.  If I ever taste one and it's delicious, my taste buds may change. But for now, those photos curb my sweet tooth. Maybe if all (most) of my food looked that way I could actually cut back.

I think it's interesting that you can give the food an unexpected look. Mind you, taste and texture is equally important, and you can play around with that as well if you are a gifted confectioner.
