Christian jukebox (good clean music to listen to)

What a powerful song about how music can move you. I absolutely love the end of this song as every musician stops playing their instrument and it goes completely A Capella including the audience.

Praise Jah lift your voice to the sky Praise Jehovah let your spirit's fly
From the heavens to the height so true Praise Jah let it flow through you

Heard this great jazz tune by Gregory Porter today while I was doing my local volunteer work. I volunteer for the local food bank a couple hours a week.

Sad to hear that original bassist Roger McLachlan has died from pancreatic cancer at age 71. Sadly this band no longer has any original members. I always felt they gave an early Eagles vibe especially in this song. "It's a Long way There" by the Little River Band from 1975! 50 years ago hard to believe!

I was actually thinking when I heard it again, it was more like Crosby, Stills & Nash.

Because you're fairly new here. I posted this video on June 5, 2018, almost seven years ago!  :uhhuh:

Well at least I found it. There is so much great music and we just need to find it. I have loved listening to the jazz station when I volunteer! I am sure I will continue to find gems that I have never heard before.

From 1999 in one of Paul Young's last performances as he would die in 2000 from a sudden heart attack. Mike and the Mechanics performan All I need is a Miracle.

From that same group we also have a heartache of a song, sung by Paul Carrack when he was with Mike and the Mechanics "The Living Years"

From 1975 the group The Crusaders released "Chain Reaction". What a great album. The Crusaders:

Wayne Henderson - trombone

Wilton Felder - saxophones, bass

Larry Carlton - guitar

Joe Sample - Fender Rhodes electric piano, clavinet, synthesizer

Stix Hooper - drums, percussion

Only Larry Carlton (played on many Steely Dan songs) and Stix Hooper are still alive.

That was the year I really started to like jazz and jazz influenced music. This is a song called "Creole" off of that record. And "Mellow Out"

Peter Frampton's incredible cover of the Lenny Kravitz song "Are You Gonna Go My Way".  No singing just Frampton's skill with a guitar! From his album Frampton Forgets The Words released in 2021.  Peter Frampton, the renowned musician, suffers from a rare muscle disease known as inclusion body myositis in 2015.

Here's Frampton from the same album cover the Stevie Wonder song "I don't Know why". Just incredible guitar playing. Especially considering his health!

Quote

Inclusion body myositis is an inflammatory and degenerative muscle disease. It features abnormal protein deposits called inclusion bodies that cluster inside your muscle cells and contribute to weakening them. Over time, you’ll notice your limbs growing increasingly weaker, and you may develop difficulties with ordinary tasks.

Wow, incredibly talented yet fighting against such terrible odds to play so well.

One of my favorite songs from the group Humble Pie, which Peter Frampton was a member of. "I don't need no Doctor". The gentleman singing with Peter is Bob Mayo. Yes, the Bob Mayo you hear him say on his 1976 Frampton Comes Alive. Mayo would die in 2004 at age 56. This is from Frampton Live in Detroit 1999.

I want to also share Steve Marriott who was the lead vocalist and guitar player for Humble Pie. This is from 1985. He was so talented but let alcohol ruin his life, when he died in his sleep after a heavy night of drinking. Some of the most talented people are also the most messed up. He was only 44. Love the bib overalls!

Singer/songwriter Bruce Robison singing "Angry All the Time". I will also the Tim McGraw version. I like the Bruce Robison version because he sings a more depressing version of a sad song!

I try to have an eclectic variety of music. Today it's country music. Not the current country but old country. For me that would be the 60's to late 70's with a dose of 80's. Here are three choices: First a cover by Reba McEntire & Kenny Chesney "I was Country, when Country wasn't Cool"-

One of my mom's favorite David Houston "Where Love Used To Live"-

Sometimes you need a little soul with your country music. Ray Charles from 1972! "Take me home, country roads"-

Knowing me, I probably already shared this video. I absolutely love the intro as the performer lets her band shine before taking the stage. Sorry she has so many health issues. Singer Katie Melua sings I put a spell on you.

Katie Melua has candidly opened up about suffering an acute psychotic breakdown as she prepares to perform again. The songstress, 40, admitted she had feared for her music career after her mental health struggles in her twenties. She spent six weeks in hospital in 2010 and was forced to take a break from her music career.
