Book on blood

I haven't read this book, "Nine Pints: Through the Money, Medicine and Mysteries of Blood" by Rose George, but it brings out that much blood remains a mystery regarding the purpose of blood types. Also, my neighbor who is nurse told me that she don't blame people of not taking blood. She told me that donated blood can not be cleansed because if they do clean or sterilize the blood, then they would destroy the red blood cells. Thank God for Acts 15: 28,29

Even back in blood booklet ( circa 1959 ) we were informed that blood is as individual as fingerprints.

 

Even 3 hours after being drawn - your blood is not the same as that still flowing in your body. It quickly deteriorates.

 

Whole blood is rarely transfused anymore - it is usually Red Blood Cells ( packed RBCs ) - the older they are the more deformed they get, etc., etc.

or plasma ( which they often freeze for storage )
