Recipe Exchange Forum Proposal (was Re: Recipe Exchange)

Recommended Posts

Let's talk to Bob. You first.:eat:

I think Bob would agree. Done.

note: if not it can always be undone ;)

This is fine.

Alternatively, if people want one recipe per subject line, with all others replies just being comments on it, we could create a dedicated forum for that.

I do not mind creating forums for specific things that seem to be popular. I don't like creating forums that turn out to be ghost towns.

sounds good, I think.... does that mean that the recipe and comments for that recipe only will follow? or will comments for any recipe just be helter skelter, following the last comment on the thread? or maybe have recipes and then comments on them somewhere else?

If it were a separate forum, I think the rules should be....

Think of starting a "New Topic" for each new recipe. Only "Reply" for commenting on that recipe. Don't reply on one recipes thread with another recipe, but instead start a "New Recipe (Topic)". Get it?

That's even if it is worth having it's own forum for. We could just stick with this pinned topic, but 500 recipes later and we might regret it. A recipe name per subject line in the topic list would make it easy to search for something you might want to try.

I love to pick up recipes, so I think your idea of a separate forum and a topic per recipe is great, Bob.

I could look down the topics for a recipe I want. I might even contribute some of my favourites, too. I find the current thread difficult to follow if I want a particular recipe.

Sign me up, Scotty!

You know you can count me in for recipes to exchange. Not only recipes but kitchen tips. Love them! We culd also request a certain recipe. I have done alot of catering and parties so if anyone wants a particular request I would be glad to help however I can. Sounds like fun!

the pinned topic is too confusing! too hard to find one... I like the forum idea!

I'll try to slice and dice this topic later when I have the time.

Slicing and dicing is done.

Each recipe with it's unique replies have become their own topic. The conversation about freezing scrambled eggs has become it's own topic. The remaining discussion about the sticky topic and then proposing a forum is what is left over in this topic.

Bon appetite!
