Our co is leaving and I am trying to find some encouraging scriptures we could leave with him and his wife in a letter. What have you used previously or know about? Would like some help.

But on an even broader subject, what other scriptures come to mind when we want to express our appreciation for our hard-working brothers and sisters who possibly serve as regular, special pioneers, bethellites or LDC crews??

Hi Ray,

Here are some suggestions for you.

To commend an elder or a CO, you can tell him that he must be making Jehovah's heart rejoice because he has been doing exactly what Jehovah asks of His shepherds in this scripture.

Quote

“. . .Take good care of your sheep" (Pr 27:23)

You can tell a CO that you will miss him because...(share with him some specific reasons) and that because of these reasons you hold him dear

Quote

“. . .keep holding men of that sort dear. . .” (Php 2:29)

And if you are giving the CO a gift/money, then you can explain this is your way of showing "double honor" to him because you appreciate his hard work in teaching and helping your congregation.

Quote

“. . .Let the elders(COs are traveling elders) who preside in a fine way be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard in speaking and teaching. . .” (1Ti 5:17)

Heb 6:10

The elders in our congregation recently received a Thank You card from someone in the congregation and they used this scripture to tell the elders how much they appreciated everything they were doing.
