https://www.msn.com/en-us/music/news/r-kelly-denied-bail-on-sex-trafficking-charges-in-new-york-pleads-not-guilty/ar-AAIcdMU?ocid=spartandhp  (Robert) R. Kelly is low on financial resources and is only allowed to have one of his girlfriends at a time visit him in jail. People quickly become calloused to shocking news, it then just as quickly, becomes the new-normal.

Also NOt def an R. Kelly fan, but I was taking over a class at a local rehab center to teach math for High School completion to males and females who were recovering from drug addiction and in the reentry process from prison. We have a couple of prisons here. I started the first class by singing R.Kelly's "Happy People" which had steps similar to the Cha Cha Shuffle. Busted the moves.  Of course, the class thought it was hysterical and it broke the ice with some folks who were expecting to hate finishing up math.( I ended up teaching all 5 subjects that summer, as I did for my local students.) All of these students were from New York City. When I moved here, I was considering traveling to The City every day, just to have the experience of teaching some NYC  students (I'm upstate.) I decided to skip this opportunity b/c of my age and the distance. But the local teaching job I accepted did afford me the pleasure of teaching Down-State- NYC students. I even had students from The City bussed to my Classroom (for ESL) from the same population group.  The young lady who taught me the song and steps was a young Sis of ours (at the time.) So, I did actually get the chance to teach locals and those from THE City. This was a number of years ago, and Mr. Kelly's reputation was pretty much for music, then.
