Lost my phone being capsized in a rapid

I took my Son on a river trip today with my older brother. Both of us in an open canoe and my brother in a kayak. We got capsized in a rapid the pushed us into an over-hanging tree and lost my phone. The canoe was submerged and wrapped around a large rock. I got to shore and lost site of my Son. Made contact with him a few minutes later, all safe and will. I split my knee open on a rock, but am ok. Got the canoe out and able to put it back in shape and carry on. Got separated from my older brother toward the end  of the day, so paddled up-river to find him. Couldn’t find him. Got back to the end point, to find he had snapped his paddle and dragged his kayak up the river bank to the road and walked back to the termination point... He saw me paddling back up river, but couldn’t get my attention. Was a very tough day, but ended ok. No one seriously hurt and all still alive. My brother was waring an action cam on his head and caught it... will edit it and put it on youtube in a few days time.  Looking forward to my bed tonight.

Don't think I'd get out of bed tomorrow after all that! Pity it's a meeting day so I suppose you have to!

I was holding my breath midway through your post Brother David but I'm soo glad you and your family are alright!  Next time you feel like river tripping/canoe rafting..um, can't you upload the sport to TV, like Tennis Wii?

A bit stiff and sore, but was good. Met some people I shared a congregation with 24 years ago . Was nice.

Haha, yes, my older brother was waring an action cam. Will start editing this tomorrow. Many years ago, I did a 5 day trip down this river from the top, to about half way. Some years later, I did the same in 7 days. A few years back, I did the final part of the river and yesterday I did the last part in the middle and completes the total length of the Wanganui River.

Yup, I have now kayak’d the full length of the river.
