It;s interesting that people are split when it comes to religion. Some say it heals, others say it destroys... Sounds like people are getting fed up with alot of it. 2020 Could prove to be an interesting year, especially with the corona virus. It seems many religions are rebelling and not wanting to obey guidelines, and then looking for someone to blame when their churchgoers get sick...

I live in a temporary reality- awaiting the day I wake up to life in the real world!

The person interviewed, a religious person himself, was actually pretty balanced....

Well, on the one hand, I do believe that religious services are "essential," in an existential sense. But this is an exceptional time that we are in and there are life-and-death considerations involved. So it seems prudent to be extra careful, lest our religious gatherings become vectors to propagate transmission of a pathogenic and virulent virus. Zoom and other platforms can work just fine for now in keeping communities of faith linked together virtually. Pastors who are violating restriction orders are possibly endangering the most vulnerable of their congregants. Do they really think that a loving God wants them to do something so foolish?

It's those foolish ones that give false religion, and by extension religion in general, a bad rap.

The general portrayal and attitude towards religion has been increasingly negative for the last couple decades. These defiant churches who wave around their first amendment rights, think they are divinely protected from covid-19, and put their congregants at risk are only adding to their rap sheet.
