Prescriptions and COVID-19

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this question belong in here, but I'll give it a try.

My doctor retired, he's given his office staff and patients 30 days to find another doctor, and he said "to make haste and find a doctor so your prescriptions can be filled!"   I've been to 3 so far, and each one had a different answer.  The 1st one was on virtual screen and out right said, "Oh, you take that, I will not refill for you, you need to go see a psychiatrist to get that medication!"  2nd doctor I interviewed with, said "Oh my, your a senior, and we can't have you on this medication, you need to get off of it asap.  I will prescribe something that will help you but you can't take your meds with it."  3rd, doctor, "No doctor in the state, will prescribe your medication because of your age.  We have followed a "STUDY PROGRAM" on elderly people who take this medication and they do not do well when they are in their older years."   Well, my father took the same medication for 40 yrs and he never had an issues.  He died at age 90  from prostrate cancer, not the medication.  My mother (who never took the same medication my dad took for 40 yrs, died of old age, with my help (as a caregiver) I got her up to 101 yrs and she died of OLD AGE!

Now, here I am over 65 but under 70.  So, I don't need a psychiatrist!  I worked taking this medication for 25 yrs, never had any issues, no falling, no dementia, no accidents, none!  I took care of two loving people (they died at different years).  I worked all my life, I couldn't help it if back in 94, someone in my work office shot and killed a coworker, not just me, but the entire office had anxiety and developed insomnia.   I couldn't help it when finally in 95, I worked for the fed's, and they bombed the Oklahoma Building, and killed every one in there, even co-workers, who were there for training.  Anxiety built up again, my doses was 1mg, 1 pill.  Then in 1999, I lost my eldest brother, he didn't die from this medication, he died of lung cancer.  Then in 2000, snipers were traveling up and down I95, shooting and killing people from their vehicle.  Again, on high alert and anxiety, and lack of sleep.  These monsters were both caught sleeping in their vehicle at a truck stop.  In 2001, I was home getting ready and I get a call from my superior, telling me not to come to work, turn on the TV.  What I saw was what you all saw on that 1 day in September 2001.  My superior put me and others on high alert.   Then I went to my doctor then and asked if I can take 2 mg to help me out.  He said sure, of course, no problems, if they help you, take them.  So from 2001 till 2019, I took 2mg, but in 2019, I had some really big anxiety issues with these surgeons, and the blood issue, which I had discussed with them prior to the day of surgery, that I would not give my blood for storage, nor take blood in any shape or form.  They tormented me 1/2 before surgery was scheduled.  I was ready to drag myself out of that hospital.  I stood my ground and I even signed a release paper that if I bled during this surgery, not to save my life because on the paper, it only had 2 choices, 1 take the transfusion, 2 you are willing to die.

Jehovah, got me through that horrific ordeal. So I saw my doctor 2 months after and asked for 3mg of the medication.  Due to the anxiety and insomnia caused by that experience.  Now we are in prophetic Luke 21:11 time, pestilence, COVID-19.  The order was put out to get extra medication just in case the companies that make medications of all sorts should run low, or if you isolate, you need to get your meds.  Well, my doctor refused to do a form to have my prescription company to approve the extra.  A 30 day refill supply (they don't do 90).  Nope, he wouldn't do it.  Now he's retired and am left out in the cold.  The medication I take is a non narcotic medication, one of the cheapest on the market.  But because am over 65 and below 70, the medical doctors refuse to refill it.  My only alternative is to see a psychiatrist, try a new medication to help with anxiety and insomnia, or eventually go into withdrawals and die.   I hear other people are having the same issues.  Even the ones who worked in his office.  My medication is a schedule IV, not an opioid, but some they have added it in their minds and their studies, that is is a narcotic, but no it's not.  I checked with DEA, and they said your doctor (s) can write you out a script for it.  It's not an opioid!  And some friends who take opioids, only are allowed 5 pills for pain.  I know people have abused these medications, but now in the time of the end, they had roped us in with the abusers.  So my question is has anyone in here had any problems getting their medicines refilled?
