If you want the world to shut down for a long period of time for any reason in this system of things, you'd need a system of universal basic income so few people would have to go to work, but with UBI, no one would feel motivated to work, because why work if you can get money for free? With no one working, we'd have no way to get supplies or deal with refuse, or even have some of our utilities.
This sounds like a slippery slope, but giant holes have already been poked in world economies. If Armageddon doesn't come within the next decade, it's inevitable, we will experience economic depression. Is a few degrees of an increase in temperature, that's going to be reversed when the new system comes anyway, work such a depression or the risk of having to install worldwide UBI?
