First human to outer space on this day 1961

Sixty years ago , April 12 1961 , Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the first human to orbit the earth.

 

Who could have imagined how quickly Low Earth Orbit would be exploited?  Sixty years on, and one big problem is too much hardware floating around !
