IPad cracked screen questions

Recommended Posts

I dropped my 5th generation iPad a couple of years ago and cracked the screen. Up to now it was functioning with no big problems and I kind of got used to using it in that condition. However, recently, the cracks are getting worse and the touch function does not work well.

I am wondering if it is best to replace the screen ( I don’t  have apple care) or go for a new IPAD. In both cases I am wondering how I can transfer all my study notes froM WT LIb app to a new iPad. Even if I get the screen repaired it is suggested to make a factory reset before handing over to a third party  to avoid privacy issues.  So whatever I do, I need a way to avoid losing all my study notes etc. Is there any way to be able to do this without too much technical know how as I am kind of technology illiterate.  If there is any advice on this  it would be appreciated   Thanks in advance.

It’s very common for many phones to gradually lose their function here and there after using it about a few years. Even if you were to repair the screen, there is no guarantee that the phone itself will continue to function correctly. Also, screen repairs cost a lot. (At least here.) So it usually is not worth the effort if you know your the phone is going to die again anyway. If you can purchase a new phone, I personally would recommend you to do that.

You can move your study notes to the new phone using the back up feature in JW Library. But the publication files themselves will need to be redownloaded. Also, remember to back up any personal photos, videos, etc you have in that phone that you want to carry over.
