Sunday, July 3

Throw all your anxiety on [God], because he cares for you.—1 Pet. 5:7.

Because of severe anxiety, some brothers and sisters feel very nervous and self-conscious in everyday social situations. They may find it difficult to be in large groups, but they continue to attend congregation meetings, assemblies, and conventions. They find it a challenge to speak to strangers, yet they talk to others in the field ministry. If that is true in your case, be assured that you are not alone. Many deal with similar struggles. Remember that Jehovah is pleased with your whole-souled efforts. The fact that you have not given up is proof that he is blessing you and giving you the strength you need. (Phil. 4:6, 7) If you are serving Jehovah despite enduring physical or emotional limitations, you can be confident that you are pleasing Jehovah. Many of us have physical limitations, yet we are enduring. (2 Cor. 4:16) With Jehovah’s help, we will all run the race to the finish! w20.04 31 ¶20-21

You can't walk with God while holding hands with the Devil.

I am sad when I read today's text because I see my other brothers and sisters overcoming the things that hold them back; meanwhile I am not doing the same.  I am so disappointed in my service routine, or lack thereof.  I love informal witnessing; still, I have not been engaging in group field service and letter writing/ telephone witnessing.  I feel unmotivated to do so.  I think it is my mood about many things lately; I'm somewhat halfheartedly living.

I apologize for venting so disjointedly; I'm tired after a long shift.

Do you find it’s a temporary setback, or ongoing? Keep in mind things during corona have made it challenging and affected the brothers also mentally and emotionally. Some good ole study project in the scriptures can no doubt give you that infusion back. For example the scripture in Proverbs 24:16 has a WT article tied to it from 1988.

The Challenge of Following in His Footsteps

“For Christ suffered for you and left you a personal example, so that you might follow in his footsteps.”—1 PETER 2:21, Phillips.

1, 2. (a) What can be a real challenge, and why is this of interest to Christians? (b) What questions are here raised?

DID you ever walk along a sandy beach or across a snowy field and find yourself fascinated by the pattern of footsteps left by someone who walked there before you? Did you perhaps even pick out a set of footsteps and try to follow them, matching your own steps with them as exactly as possible? If so, you discovered that it was not easy. In fact, following closely in the footsteps of another—either literally or figuratively—is a real challenge. And yet, by calling ourselves Christians, we have indicated our desire to do just that, to follow closely in the footsteps of Christ.

Open up your heart to Jehovah about your feelings, be responsive to his direction, study, study and seek out videos on JWL or Broadcasting, and keep in mind that it’s a positive thing that you are making a self-analysis. :flowers:

Anytime dear Michelle…when I attended pioneer school years ago, and which often comes up regularly at our pioneer meetings, is the importance of daily bible reading and study. The illustration given was a car, and if the car runs out of gas, the car won’t be able to run anymore…same with our preaching…we can easily run out of gas if we don‘t fuel ourselves from God’s word enough. So keep fueling up and get the strength you definitely will receive. :flowers:💞
