Excitement late at night

Heard a bunch of sirens about 11:30 pm tonight Friday.

 

Low and behold they stopped at our building. Wasn't sure if here, next door or across the street. Could smell  smoke stronger near our front door. No alarms so took front elevator to ground floor and met firemen coming in with a big fan.

Someone had a cooking fire on a lower floor. Smoke got less at front corner of building but it still smells bad. Blocked door with towels and masking taped around door and mail slot. Put fan in patiodoor to suck smoke out and window fan in spare room to blow air in. Don't want smoke alarm to rattle our nerves. Fire alarms have not gone off, yet.

Found out this morning on Zoom ( LDC working at hall today ) from building manager/sister that someone  put heat/cold wrap in microwave for 2 minutes really 20 minutes. It blew up and caught microwave on fire. Can still smell the smoke somewhat.
