There are several ways to make old ones happy in your congregation. Since most of them do not have the internet, you can make a copy of the JW Annual Report https://www.jw.org/en/library/books/2022-Service-Year-Report-of-Jehovahs-Witnesses-Worldwide/2022-Grand-Totals/ . Believe me, by giving them a copy will put a smile on their face.

I looked at this title, and immediately tried to find it, which I did.
I’m 79, and been giving thought to this. There are ones, generally brothers, that have come and gone throughout the years. And they end up special. I started to think about why that was.
It’s simple. They recognize us, usually on a regular basis. And say something that makes us feel like we are an appreciated part of the congregation. And it can be that they just noticed us.
Many times, it’s to, “torment”, in fun. “Now, you two don’t be fighting on the way home.”  (The sister that I take turns with riding to the hall is 77.)
I can name ones who end up in this special category in my life, and started to thinks about why. They noticed us, and treat us as individuals. Two young ones come to my mind, so, it’s not a cultivated quality. It’s a heart thing. It just comes naturally for some humans, I think, not just men.
It made me think I need to make it a point to reach out and visit more.
I want ones at the end of the day to be mulling it over, (the day) and remember my exchange with them.

I want to age without sharp corners, and have an obedient heart!
