Couple other things to check:

1. When entering her name, as part of the ID check, make sure no space is added to the end (sometimes auto-complete will do this for you.  The space is seen as a character and won't line up with what NWS has)

2. Does her name have an apostrophe in it?  Regardless if it worked before, it could be an issue with the latest update.  A name like "D'ion" could mess with some coding, if it isn't handled properly.

Thanks. I checked for a space each time we tried and her name doesn't have an apostrophe.

Not likely in your situation as you probably would have caught it, but same principle for a name with an accent, like José. If it's spelled with the accent in NWS then it must match in NWP.

Re: Connection Issues. I just tried the new "Refresh Authentication" button on the "App Persons" page, and it allowed a publisher to connect without changing his PIN. Anyone know exactly how this works?

Using v8.0 #1442. When I wanted to see which reports were still missing in my group, or in the whole congregation, I used to go to Persons, click on any publisher, Publisher Activity, and then click the newspaper icon. That would show all the publishers with their report for this month.

Now when I do that it asks if I wish to create a Congregation Activity Report (S-1). If I click on it, it will show the same grid as it used to (which by the way is not the S-1 form). But why this unnecessary additional step? Is there something I am overlooking?

It's explained in help page that "contact us" links to.

2026/03/01: If any publisher has problems connecting to NWP app, please see Help > NW Publisher app > App Problems > Publishers can’t Connect, or Identify Person, or are being Disconnected, or logged out

It's seems like you're a bit confused. Clicking on Persons, then 'any publisher' has always showed that person's publisher record. On the other hand, clicking Congregation, then Congregation Field Service Report (S-1) allows you to see ALL publishers reports. This hasn't changed.

The extra step you are talking about was explained in the Release Notes:

Thanks, Matthew. That explains it. >:D<

Once I accepted it, it hasn't appeared again.

I actually hadn't tried this method, but I tried it and it worked for me exactly as you described. To go one step further, in the top right hand side drop-down box, I selected "Missing Report". It didn't ask me to create a Congregation Activity Report. Also on v8.0 #1442. 🤔

Been having problems too with publishers pins.  Had to reset pin and refresh authenticity.

Thanks. We reset the pin and that didn't work but the brother just refreshed the authentication and now it works 😁

Hi Marko,

You will find that information here:

NW Scheduler | Improve NW Scheduler Program Translation

NWS Desktop and NWS Mobile have the same translation document.

For NW Publisher go here:

In Addition, I am on North American Old server, how do I move to the new one? Our congregation is on the Gold plan.

CONGREGATION SHARING

  • Five new Sharing Servers have been added, which match the same Regions as the NW Publisher app Servers.
  • Congregations should transition to the new Servers when convenient for your congregation, but before May 2026. This does NOT affect the NW Publisher app.
  • To transition, one Congregation Administrator should perform the following:
    1. Click Congregation > Congregation Sharing > Shared Persons > Backup Shared Persons.
    2. Click Congregation > Congregation Sharing > Overview > Change Sharing Region.
    3. Select the new Region and confirm.
    4. Notify all Shared Persons that the Sharing Region has been changed, and that they will need to reconnect to Congregation Sharing and select the new Sharing Region.
    5. Remember: All Shared Persons will need the Congregation ID, Congregation Password and Sharing Region to connect again.

Thank you.  Will it bring back the friends field service history after changing Severs?

Hi. I’m fairly new to this forum. Has anyone had experiences with moving from Territory Helper to NWS?  And what about using hourglass instead of NWS.

Dear Gary P:

Hope our friends in the north are doing well.  Last November, we visited the Canada Bethel.  What an amazing experience!

I've heard of hourglass, but I've never been in a congregation that uses it.

Regarding moving from TH to NWS, yes, we did so in our congregation.  While going through the process, we learned for the most positive outcome, it wasn't just a straight import from TH.  We started using TH, during COVID, primarily for letter writing and telephone witnessing.  Each territory had it's respective map and the list of all addresses (names and numbers as well, where possible).  But when we returned to in-person door to door ministry, TH was kludgy, and challenging to manage (keeping track of which homes were worked, not at home, etc.  Most brothers started keeping a list of "at homes" rather than "not at homes").

The only thing we used from TH was the address lists, but we audited all addresses before going live in NWS. A lot of time was spent in setup, but it has been time well spent.

We did not use:

(1) the maps from TH for NWS, preferring to create new maps within NWS.

(2) the territory numbering scheme from TH, preferring to create a new clean numbering scheme within NWS.

These decisions created a more positive experience in NWP.

Also, we migrated from KHS to NWS, in JAN 2024, all functions except territory.  This gave us the advantage of getting used to the platform before introducing the potentially complex aspect of the Territory function.  Then in DEC 2024, we went live with the Territory function in NWS/NWP.

Bottom line:

It was very well received.  The friends LOVE it!  Every home in the territory has a pin on the map, so you can just click on the pin and select your desired action.  In our recent memorial campaign, when we had different groups in different parts of a single territory, the brother overseeing the work, could see real time the progress being made in each section of the territory, as each publisher can update the map real time.  The only caveat is that you should close the map and reopen it to get a proper refresh of the progress.

Perhaps others have had similar experiences that they'd like to share.  I'm sure they will chime in.

If you have any other specific questions, please let me know.

YB, Mike

During the initial migration, we experienced no issues, all data and history was maintained.  My suggestion is to get over to the new region sooner than later, so as not to risk any exposure.  Like Sooner Guy 89 said, the most painful part is getting all of the shared brothers onto the new region.

We weren't having that problem but changing to the new servers did restore all of our Sharing Logs. They had disappeared many updates back. Everything has been much more stable and we have not had a single issue since moving to the new servers.

I agree, change as soon as it is practical.  I helped our secretary and we did a few things that made it go very smooth.  We announced to all the elders and ministerial servants that there would be a "Down for Maintanance" day on the next Sunday between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm. We told them that no one should add or edit any data in NWS during that time. Everyone should update to the new servers on that day. You can see in real time as they update. After the secretary or an admin changes the servers in Shared Persons all of the brothers show blank in the Latest Version column. As they update is shows them with the latest version again. We had 100% success in one day. That was the first time ever.

It seems a little intimidating but just follow the instructions carefully and you should have no problems.
