NW Scheduler/Publisher - Updates, Support, and Suggestions

I did see those and checked every one of those conditions but still no button. Our very kind PTC has been patiently waiting on me; I have been messing with this for a few days now.

 

Request Hospitality via NWP

The Request Hospitality button will show on NW Publisher app if all the following is true:

  • App Settings > Allow Hospitality Requests is ticked

Hospitality Status is either Unconfirmed or Confirmed

  • The person has Person > Assign > Hospitality ticked

No one else has already been assigned Hospitality

Your best option is to open a ticket with the developers of NW Scheduler:

I totally understand I just hoped maybe someone had a similar issue. I sent in a ticket and this was the reply which didn't help since I had been through all support info multiple times:

I had to go through and manually reset all the dropdowns to the correct value. The Publisher app kept saying Hospitality was  "Not Available" until I updated to 4.0.12. Now it works fine.

I sent a request to support, and their kind but generic reply was thoroughly check the help/support section. Which I had done before contacting them. But I went through the steps again and supplied all the screen shots. 

 

Has anyone dealt with this?

Not sure if you missed my reply when you first posted this question on the 17th..?

 

You've shown a screenshot of point 1 from the checklist in Help, but no screenshot of the other points. I'm not saying you didn't do those, but sometimes an extra pair (or few pairs here) of eyes help, especially since others are saying it is working for them.

For example, point 3 from the checklist?

i.e. 1.) Have you checked that each publisher with this problem has hospitality ticked on their 'Assign' tab? If it is already ticked, maybe try unticking & re-ticking

And 2.) after making sure each person is ticked, did you send persons app data?

We are still not showing the correct data in NWP for Hall Cleaning.  It is missing many weeks that appear to be entered correctly in NWS.  I was really hoping one of these last minor updates would fix it because I have tried every trick we all know about and it still won't refresh to the correct data.

Our list of Duties is not in order. The KH Cleaning scheduled for May is at the bottom of the list with September and October...

 

However, it does show up on the right meeting schedule.

Yes. I also changed one of the dates, synced, changed it back and synced again. I still have what you see. It doesn't seem to be a problem, the cleaning assignment shows up on the meeting schedule correctly.

 

If anyone else is missing cleaning assignment data, it may be at the bottom of the list.

NW are really bad at communication. I’ve been a translator for years, and they rarely inform translators about what is added, removed, or changed in the apps.

I was manually checking if there was any new text for the NWP app when I got a message saying the file was in the owner’s trash. I contacted them, but they haven’t replied yet. Later I noticed a note on the website saying:
“Note: NWS Desktop, NWS Mobile and NW Publisher app translation files are now all combined below.”

It would be appreciated if translators were informed about changes like this beforehand. There is no changelog, no clear communication about updates, and no information on whether changes affect translations.

At least now we know that all apps are combined into one translation document, which is good. But informing translators in advance would have made the transition much smoother. Sending a short email is not exactly a huge task, especially since they already have our contact information.

I just noticed that the Person PIN for each Publisher is not visible in NWP. When I go to NWP>Me>Publishers>Name>Spiritual Information it would show the persons Personal PIN, but now the field is blank.

Is anyone else having the same problem?

 

BTW: The Publishers page is only available to appointed servants if enabled by the NWP administrator, so not everyone has it.

It's been removed. There was a message a few NWP versions back in that section that mentioned they'd be taking the Publishers area completely out. I'm guessing they never added the PIN info back as it was before. The message mentioned to use NWS Mobile instead for that feature. Looks like they're trying to encourage the use of NWS Mobile for any admin type function.

Thanks. I saw the message about the Publishers section being removed and then the message disappeared. The Personal PIN field is still there, but it's blank, so apparently they aren't sending the data but haven't changed the form. 

 

I had NWS Mobile for awhile but it wasn't intuitive or useful, so I disconnected and deleted it.

The Person PINs have not been removed. Both the heading and the PIN are still there (at least for now).

If the PINS are missing, you probably just need to "Refresh" Persons App Data.

 

They have been adding more features to NWS Mobile. I'm finding myself using it more and more.

 

Let's see how long this post takes to get approved and you can actually see it. My last post took 20 hours to get approved. Does anyone know if needing to have each post approved is removed after a certain period of time or a certain number of posts? I feel like by the time it's posted, the forum had more posts on other things (in this case 8 so far), and the person/people I'm trying to help don't see my suggestions which are way back up the thread!

Our cleaning schedule is still bugged.  I tried clearing every week and starting fresh.  After I had a blank schedule I sent the app data.  It showed empty, nothing in NWP so I thought that was a good sign.  However, I reentered from this week through the middle of October, about 20 weeks I think.  Now it still only shows 2 weeks - June 22 and September 7.  I tried the refresh app data and other things with no success.  I am going to submit a ticket next week because I don't know any other tricks to try at our end.

Thanks. I did Refresh and it didn't change. I have the latest update as of today...

Start a conversation with the Mods in Confidential if you need an explanation, but generally they like to get to know new members first. Just keep participating....

Sorry yes I did see your reply. It did appear to be a widespread issue with multiple users. I did Refresh Persons App Data and this morning it did appear to be working correctly. Thanks

I just noticed that you can select the previous service year in the Publisher Reports in NWP. So now there is more information available in NWP than before.
