NW Scheduler/Publisher - Updates, Support, and Suggestions

Thanks, Jeremy. I wasn't able to find it but maybe someone will be able to point me to it.

I would like to have a dismiss button next to warnings. My About Me section permanently has a red exclamation sign. Either a brother hasn't connected in several weeks, or someone is lacking a phone number or there is an unassigned local needs talk. Notifications are very useful, but when the red sign is constantly there you no longer pay any attention.

Jeremy may have been refering to the dropdowwn box in my screenshot. You find that in the first tab of Congregation Sharing - the overview tab. We have it set to "Never" but in the dropdown you can also set it for any 1-12 months.

Hi everyone! As a member of the NW ITA Telegram channel, I wanted to share some good news: we recently requested that the feature allowing the chairman to read the scheduled announcements by simply tapping on his assignment for that meeting be brought back. In the past, the only option was to print the chairman's program sheet.

Yesterday's update has reintroduced this feature — great news for all of us!

Sure! Basically, during the week a brother is assigned as chairman, he can read the scheduled announcements directly from the NW Scheduler app, in the personal assignments section. This is of course only visible on his own profile — no one else can see it.

Thanks, Marky. I had seen that box. It prevents the friends to having to enter all their data again from time to time. It's quite useful, but it's not directly related to changing the password. :)

Our brothers don't use that feature and probably don't know that it is available. Can you please explain more about it?

Yes, I think what we are having trouble to understand is who includes those announcements in the software, and how he does it.

Agreed. Our COBE emails the announcements to the chairman on the afternoon of the meeting. That arrangement works well for us. I doubt he will want to use NWP for the announcements but I am interested in what NWS/ NWP can do.

I nostri fratelli non usano questa funzione e probabilmente non sanno che è disponibile. Puoi spiegarmi meglio?

Sorry, I made a mistake — I meant NW Publisher, not NW Scheduler!

Basically, during the week a brother is assigned as chairman, he can read the scheduled announcements directly from the NW Publisher app, in the personal assignments section. This is of course only visible on his own profile.

I'm attaching a screenshot to show you where to find it, even though I'm not assigned as chairman anytime soon, so the actual announcement text won't be visible — but at least you'll know where to look when the time comes!

Concordo. Il nostro COBE invia via email gli annunci al presidente nel pomeriggio della riunione. Questa soluzione funziona bene per noi. Dubito che voglia usare NWP per gli annunci, ma sono curioso di sapere cosa possono fare NWS/NWP.

Here's how it actually works: the coordinator of elders enters the announcements through NW Scheduler, and then the brother assigned as chairman for that week can read them directly in the NW Publisher app, under his personal assignments section. This is only visible on his own profile.

Thank you, but please explain how the information is assigned to the Chairman. Does the COBE use the Information Board feature in NWS to post the information for the Chairman? Hasn't that always been available?

Which program was changed to reintroduce that feature, NWS or NWP? I don't see any changes in either one of them about the feature you said was reintroduced

I'm trying to understand what you say was reintroduced, I don't see that anything has changed. I do have the latest updates.

Let me try to explain more clearly based on how our congregation uses it.

The latest app update has reintroduced the ability for the chairman to see the announcements directly in the section I mentioned earlier (personal assignments). Our coordinator finds it very useful to paste the full text of any document that needs to be read to the congregation, so the chairman can read it straight from there during the meeting.

As for the documents that are meant to go into the Information Board, those become visible in the app at the scheduled time — usually 5 minutes after the meeting ends — along with the relevant PDF.

Besides that, our coordinator also uses those notes to include other announcements, such as new pioneer appointments, the full text of other communications, and so on.

I hope this makes it clearer!

Thank you. I understand what you are doing but not how you are doing it. How does the coordinator give the chairman a personal assignment? What part of NWS is used to do that?

It is under tasks.

The Territory servant are automatic TASKED to handle territory returns (mostly automatic)
And territory request. The requests are assigned by the system, but the brothers with 'task' access can provide personal tasks to others.

Thanks. I tried that but I didn't see where it was pushed to NWP as an assignment. I have limited access to NWS, so I can't see or try everything it can do..

I found some information about Chairman Notes in the Help file, but I wasn't able to use them. Is that what he is referring to?

Thank you, I never realized that this feature existed. I'll mention it to our c o b e, because I think that would be nice. Sometimes they just tell you announcements but then the chairman doesn't know how to word it correctly. This would solve that issue if the Cobe just put it in there and then the chairman read it.

No, when he says personal assignment he means the third tab at the bottom of NWP, which we all look at for our assignments. Look at the screenshot of NWP that he included in one of his posts. So when the chairman looks at his assignments in NWP he can click on his chairman assignment and the announcements will be there where he can read them directly from NWP, assuming the CBOE enters them in the chairman's notes through NWS.

That's the part I am trying to understand. Can you provide some screenshots of where that is?

I hardly ever look at that tab because it's been so unreliable in so many publishers have pointed out that it is showing wrong information. I always look at the second tab, the calendar and I look at the meeting and who has parts for the whole meeting. I look at that for myself as well. If the third tab was more reliable, I might look at it more. Maybe it is reliable now but in the past it's been somewhat unreliable.

Check Alessandro's previous posts. He provided a screenshot where to find it in NWS.

Thanks. He is still in limited access so that comment was apparently approved and visible after i had read that part of the conversation.

Thank you. I thought you might have been referring to that but I wasn't sure. I am in View Only mode in NWS so I can't see what some features do, but I thought that was used for the description of the assignment. This is what I see in NWP.

Thank you. I'm sorry I didn't see this comment sooner. Sometimes comments by new members are approved late and show up earlier in a conversation and get missed. Please spend some time contributing to the theocratic discussions and you will be a full member soon, then your comments won't need to be approved.

Thanks for the explanation, Alessandro. It's clear now.

I see how that can be useful. (tu)
