Audio Video - Desk

Recommended Posts

Our congregation really needs to improve the desk we use for Audio/Video.  I have asked our LDC Trainer for suggestion without anything more than, 'whatever works best for you brothers'.  Does anyone have pictures of what they have and love.  Or better yet a link showing where you found yours ... or even specs so we can get one built?

We have the audio desk that was supplied by our Branch through the LDC. Below it what it looks like.

I have done some modifications to the desk itself, as I have removed the static rubber feet that was on the desk and replaced them on wheeled coasters, so we can wheel the desk about easier, the monitor that you see on the right has a home-made bracket that allows it to fold down and lay flat when you close the folding top.

We had a Bethel speaker visit our congregation before COVID and he works in the purchasing department at the Branch, when he walked into our Kingdom Hall and he saw the AV desk for the first time in person. But when he looked closely to what I had done to the desk with the modifications we did to it, he took pictures of it, as he saw the practicality of the modifications we made, as many brothers wrote back to the Branch and some complained that they could not fit everything onto the main desk. But seeing our setup, being of a basic layout, he could also assist the other brothers on what they could do with their setups. We didn't have the big monitor at the time he visited, just the fold-down monitor, as the wide one only came in when we started to have hybrid meetings.

However, since that photo was taken, we know have a mixer board where the amplifier is, and the amplifier was then installed onto the top shelf cabinet where the small microphone cases are.

We use a tower computer with a graphics card that has 4 monitor outputs. One output as for the stage monitors (using the HDMI converter to 2 x SDI outputs), and another output for the ceiling monitor which faces the study conductor on the stage. The third output is to the fold-down monitor is duplicated with the ceiling monitor we have which we use for Zoom (on that monitor you can see our Kingdom Hall and the ceiling monitor is the smaller black box). Finally the 4th output is to the wide curved screen monitor which has the other other software we use for the conducting of the meeting, which is primarily the Zoom Participate list, JWL, OBS (we are using a PTZ camera and the OBS add-in app to control the PTZ), OnlyM when required for foreign media, a webpage for the CLM schedule so we know who has what part, and also for Groove app for before and after meeting music.

Also, we only use one brother to control Audio/Visual and Zoom.
